snowed out. Second race, so cold I thought I was going to lose my fingers to the cold. It was a great course though. Things were going well after those two races. Joe Martin Stage race, I did well, first time at this race. I got to see the pros do the same course I did, only faster. Wicked Wind 100 fun ride. Our teams race here in Wichita Ks. That went well. On to Tulsa Tough two great races. First race was very hot and fast. Second race, having the time of my life. Then crash.... The time of my life became a bit of a pain. Road rash and a dislocated shoulder. Healed did some other races did not finish with much glory but I am alive and ready to train for next year. Oh how I love indoor training, NOT. That's all for now. Talk at everyone later.

Well, two races in after my shoulder dislocation. The race in Kalamazoo did not go well. I felt good for it but ended up going off road and losing the group. That will take the wind out of your sails. The race averaged 26 mph that made it very hard for me to get back on. Oh well I liked the race just as well. Although there was a few squirley riders. Did the Sunflower games crit this weekend. I did the cat 4/5 race it was a good race to regain some confidence. The only thing was I was in the wrong line coming up to the finish. Not mad about it, though. It is just something I need to learn. I ended up with 9th out of 24 so not a total blow up, just a few learning mistakes.

First year doing Tulsa Tuff. What a series of races. Probably one of the best set of criteriums in the nation. definitly one of the best in the mid west by far. fast, challenging, quality racers. The only problem was the suday race I crashed. Some road rash and a dislocated shoulder. Man did that hurt. there is a tight turn on the course and I late braked thought I had it but at such a tight turn my back wheel jumped just enough to lose grip went sidding for about 15 feet. that sucked but the people at the OU hospital took great care of me. I will back to Tulsa next year. I love racing. Oh yeah my wife was with me I am not sure if she likes the racing so much any more. It was great to have her with me though. It doesn't hurt that she is a nurse as well.

Well this coming weekdend is the Joe Martin stage race. It will be the first time me at this race. This is a year of firsts. I raced the Velotek Grand Prix last weekend. That was a tough race for me. It was a good tune up for Joe Martin. I have a feeling I am in for a learning experience at this race. Should be fun though, even though I will be going without a team mate I think. Anyway, hope to have a good race. I love racing.

Raced the Flint Ridge Circuit race in Kansas, Oklahoma. Tough race got a bit cold and windy. I ended up with a 14th place out of 22. Not a great showing but it was the first race and to top it off I had never done the race before. I enjoyed the butt kicking of a race. Never much of a flat either up or down great challenging race course.

I picked up my bike just before valentines day. I had to work that night, it was killing me not to be adjusting the bike and get it ready to ride. Oh yeah, its and Orbea. I have been working so much all the riding I have been able to do is on the rollers. The bike feels great. I can't wait to unleash this bike on the road. I am going to love riding and racing this bike. Hope everyone is getting ready to race. I am sure ready. I saw that Steve Murray got 3rd in a race. Great job Steve.

Lets see, the holiday season is over. I can finaly start to get some training in, rollers and trainer. Went out with a group last weekend. I am way out of shape. I had to drop off after about 15 miles. It was turning into a hammer fest that I was not ready to partake. It did not help that I did not eat properly before the ride (idiot). I just need to remind all eat properly, and get those miles in. If you want to read a great training book, by the way, Bobke II. It has all you need for motivation. First race is 3/29 Bazaar Road Race. I have time to get that fitness back. Get out and ride if you can. Stay sane if you have to ride indoors.
