HAWTHORNE - Nick Hall`s idea of fun is speeding around a dirt track astride a motorcycle over jumps that take him 50 feet in the air. The 15-year-old`s passion for motocross racing has brought him to Hurricane Mills, Tenn., this week for the Amateur National Motocross Championships.
Nick, heading into his sophomore year at DePaul Catholic High School, was one of 1,400 racers to qualify from a field of 17,000, according to the event`s public relations firm, Racer Productions. The races start today and continue until Sunday.
Nick says he got a dirt bike at age 4 and started racing. Now he races nearly every weekend at a track in New York State.
"I never get bored with it," he said.
