This was my first season back after a 5 year layoff and the first time competing on a four stroke. I raced a Honda CRF 250 in these classes competing against a field of 450's, I still can't believe I did it! My accomplishments this year are 2nd overall in the +45A class and 2nd overall in the +40A class at the Nuclear Series in Byron,Illinois at Byron Motosports Park. This resulted in a 10th place finish in the state points for the +45A class. For 2008 I will be riding a CRF 450 and chasing District 17 points for the top 5 in the state. |

First Race of the season April 6,2008 at Motosports Park,Byron,Illlinois. The weather was great here in the midwest this past sunday, the track was really good for the first motos and was great for the afternoon motos. For my first moto in the +40a class i pulled the holeshot and lead for three laps until i was past by a +25a rider. The next three motos i was in the top 3-4 around the first turn to finish 1,1 in both +40a and +45a classes. This is a nice start for the season. Hopefully i will be at speed by the end of april when the series races start and continue to move forward. Mike Westbrook |

AS of 7/13/08 i will be out for the season due to severe injuries suffured while racing. I crashed off a jump after the table top in the back part of the track at byron during a nuclear series race.I broke my right femur, bones in my right hand, fractured left wrist, cracked a couple ribs and collapsed a lung. I just came home today 8/6/08 after being in the hospital for a week and rehab for 2 1/2 weeks.Hopefully next year i will be back on a bike racing again. |

Well its about past midseason, my results are not as good as i would like but i am coming off sever injuries. Im not 100% yet and i suffered a engine failure which caused me to miss 2 rounds at the Nuclear Series. My fellow racers were surprized to see me at the track this year.So all in all i am doing well, gonna keep training and racing till the seasons up. Thanks go out to all my familey for supporting me. |

Here in the midwest the outdoor racing season has ended. I am happy to announse that my final standings in the race series i competed in are better than i thought i would accomplish. My injuries from last year are still a reminder in my mind and body that have been hard to shake.I put a lot of hard work into this seasons racing while still recovering from those injuries. I am 48 years old, I Love Motocross, the people involved in the sport and all familys that have a racer that they support because without them we racers wouldn't be able to do alone. Thanks go out to my family for standing by me and my discision to keep racing. Lets not forget the sponsors who also support are racing ventures. |
