well i have been training others including my wife for her first race and i have seen many difficulties along the way.  The good thing is that they have all been obstacles that we have been able to figure out as we progress in their training.  Goal setting is difficult for the new triathlete.....  One is they have no base platform to work with and tend to just want to get through the race alive..  I have learned that if we can get these beginners to enjoy the race and the training leading up to the race we can get them to see what being a triathlete is all about..... The ability to overcome great obstacles all while enjoying the journey along the way.  We all have started some where and we have had to build up to the capacity that we can handle for our own personnel body type , goals, and motivation level.  I love the age group race as it tends to be ordinary people becoming athletes.... I say encourage one person to join you and show them the way and along that journey you will find your self again if you have become lost or de-motivated and if not you may also make a great friend along your path.....   Just a thought!!!  Thanks to all that support the group and i am thankful to all my sponsors times are hard and all of us understand it.... good training!!!
