Overview

How I got started

I have been interested in dirt bikes since I was two. I attended a pro supercross race in Salt Lake City and the next weekend I was racing my Honda 50.  The rest is history. I have been racing now for 7 years and each race is just as exciting for me as the first one. I can`t dream of spending my free time anywhere else except on a dirt bike. I still get nervous just before the gate drops.

Goals for the Future

For 2009 I want to continue to get faster.  I have been riding some 125B classes and that is fun.  Hopefully I will grow a bit over the winter so riding the 250F will be easier.  I think I will be in the 80A class soon too.  I never planned on getting a CRF but now that I have one I have so much to work on.  I am looking forward to learning to ride a 4 stroke better.   As far as skills, I would like to take another motocross class to help with my corner speed.  I think 2009 is going to be another great year.

My goals for 2008 were to make my results in the 80C more solid and hopefully advance out into the 80B class or at least come close.  I also wanted to start racing in the supermini class.  I did pretty good in 2008 overall and advanced into the 80B class.  I rode some of the supermini classes.  It was hard though because all of the races are on the same day and if the weather was too hot I just focused on my primary class.

My goals for 2007 we somewhat acheived.  I had a fractured collar bone in the early spring of 2007 and that really interferred with my speed for most of the season.  I worked hard to get my confidence back.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

I would have to say that I had a dream of competing after seeing my first pro race. It was my parents who gave me the chance to live the dream. I have met so many great friends since I have started racing. I have several teen friends who are willing to help me when I need it. I look to them and I know that in a couple of years I too can race as well as they do now. They watch me race and give me tips on being faster.  They have really been helpful to me over the last year.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I consider myself an average sixth grader except that I race dirt bikes. I still have chores and homework. I also have had to start helping work on my bikes, especially since I an 12 now.   On Mondays when I am tired I still get up and go to school. I would never dream of asking mom to stay home because I went racing all weekend. I was nominated and chosen to be a conflict manager for the 2006-2007 school year. As a result, I know that a lot of faculty and students look up to me. It wouldn`t be a good idea to skip school no matter what the reason. My family is very important to me. We all race on the weekends so we have to help each other out to make the team work. Mom is the President of the High Country Motocross Association so she is busy all weekend too.  Sometimes I help Mom on the line or lube chains for Dad. Coming home with a trophy makes the long hours of practice and hard work all worth while.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I think I want to be an electrician when I grow up. I would love to race professionally but I know that will not carry me through all of my life. I know that school is important now and in the future so I give each day 100% just like I do when I am racing. I know that hard work now will pay off in the future.

How's Life Treating You?

Things continue to be SUPER! I have had a great history of winning both at the state and regional levels. I am more confident every year. Last year, I worked hard on skills and technique. My speed is improving every day. I am looking forward to 2009 and riding in the 85, supermini and possibly 125B classes. I only wish I lived in the south so I could continue to ride all the way through the winter. I consider myself so lucky to have the opportunity to race and live "the dream". My family has been supportive and my sponsors have been great. Without everyone`s help I know that I would not be where I am today. I know that I can take this as far as I want, the distance traveled is up to me. So, let`s fill `er up and hit the track.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

I used to hate to travel. I would engulf myself in playstation and be in my own little world. Now I enjoy seeing the county, listening to music and teasing my family. We play tricks on each other all the time. One time, my mom woke me up at Biggs Junction to tell me Ricky Charmichael was getting fuel next to us. The only catch was that she was not joking. I was 8 at the time and I thought that was just the best surprise.
