Weekend Nationals Prep

What an awesome weekend to ride bikes at nine mile or anywhere else for that matter that included the group I had the opportunity to ride with.

Saturday morning I ran in to back cracker steve as he was leaving sounds like he may be doing some Cervelo shopping with Nate “Top Gun” Jasperson.  From there I met Brad, Todd,ChrisDanielle and Scott who had been sidetracked from the cancellation of the Blue Mounds event I believe and received word that Chris was going to be at nine mile.

So after some introductions and filling up some bottles we were off to the 24/9 loop.  We did as much of the 2007 course as we could, but some logging took out the entrance to #5 and the #6 was cut down a decent amount as well.  We did the entrance to Ho  Chi Minh a few times to get our lines dialed in, but as Chris noted if we do get some hot weather #6 if used will be an oven that’s for sure.  I did about 3 hours with the group before Todd who is transplanted here in Wisconsin over the summer all the way from California and I had to split.

Later on the wife and I bumped in to Chris and Brad at the Roadhouse for some fine dinning as neither one of us felt like cooking and then we got ready to leave to go up north sometime on Sunday.  Wish I would have been able to do a night lap withthe Coles, but wedding anneversary duties called.

Once Sunday got here I had time so I squeezed another lap in before we took off.  By the time I got there it seems like they’ve been out there for a while already and probably would miss them and I did, but what would happen next stuck with me the next couple of days.  I think I got a little case of heat exhaustion or something cause although it was 90+ with the heat index I was still cold and was on pins and needles constantly in between sweating like I’ve been in a sauna for a couple of hours.  Things are better now (Tuesday) but I’ll continue to monitor things as we get closer to the grand daddy of them all......24/9.

The wife and I did manage to go fishing at a favorite spot where she was more pro than myself on this years expedition on a score of 6 to 3.

Thanks to all that allowed me to ride with you on Saturday and we’ll see you either at Crystal Ridge or Nationals!

Got something to say?
