What inspires you to compete?
Well this hasnt inspired me my whole career but it has since about two months or so ago. One of my very close friends that I grew up racing with since we were on little KTM 50`s. We have been competing ever since about 1996. Anyways he was in a very bad accident riding down south which put him in a coma for about 2 or 3 weeks. When he finally came home to a hospital in Buffalo me and my mom went to visit him and I couldnt be leave my eyes. He was so thin he just started eating on his own and he has almost no controll over the right side of his body. But, all he talks about is how he is gonna get right out of there and go race motocross. That right there is true love and devotion to the sport of motocross and I admire him very much!
Some Personal Information About Me:
I love to hang out with friends and have a good time. I also like to snowmobile, skateboard, mountainbike, and snowboard.
Why do you compete?
The first year I raced there were 3 kids in ym class including me. I think I got last in just about every race. But I didnt give up and the next year with the same three kids I won every race. But I dont think i race because of winning its beacuse of compitition. This year was an awsome year for that. Also it has alot to do with having fun and the people you meet during the sport. Wether it be in my local series or at the GNCC`s most of the people are friendly and willing to help if they can, really i look at racing as a big family of unrelated people who may or may not have met. (If that makes any sence at all)
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I love to travel! All my road trip storys are basically sad ones but I`ll share two of them any way. I`ll start with one where we where going to GNCC in VA. (This is when I raced the whole series) I think we were about 10 miles from the race on friday night. So we are driving along in the motor home and it starts to make a weird noise so we pull over into a parking lot to check it out. It turns out there was some kind off engine problem I dont know what it was I was to young to understand that stuff. I think it put my whole family in a bad mood cause we were pretty far from home and we were really looking forward to the race and we were so close but we didnt make it.
OK this story is a little bit sadder than the first but hey. It was the begining of the 2004 GNCC series for the minis in macon GA I beleave. We went down a week early because i wasn`t really used to the terrian considering im from NY and all. I had a blast we went to a riding facility i rode about everyday and my bike was running great. We got to the race and off the start I did great I think I was thrid. I made it to about the 1 mile mark and my bike blew up. But really the sad part of the story is it cost so much money to fix it put me out of the GNCC series for that year and we just stayed local. THE END
Schools Attended
I have been to five Tony D. school`s in the past five years. The first four of them have been one day schools at Broome-Tioga Sports Center. In all they were alot of fun and I have learned alot of technique from them. This year I was still going to go to a Tony D. school but I talked it over with my parents and we all decided that a one day school just wasnt enough for me anymore. So we signed up for a four day camp at Hurricane Hills Sports Center in Clifford PA. The camp was awsome! I liked it so much more because there was much more time to spend on each section. Also at the end of the day they had a video review of the day and went over what needed to be worked on. The best part was Broc Hepler was there for a day demoing the rythm section and giving feed back and then signed some autographs at the end of the day.
I would also like to make my way down to MTF sometime in the future.
