Morewood Bikes USA proudly announces that 3 of its team members were selected to ride for the US Team at the World Championships in Italy this year.

Junior Expert rider, Travis Bond of Chattanooga, Tennessee, was automatically selected last week. This exciting and versatile rider is the top ranked junior rider in the country and, having won the NORBA at Snowmass, won himself an automatic invite to Italy. Travis is well on his way to being a rider to be reckoned with.

Geritt Beytagh, Pro rider and partner in Morewood Bikes USA, is currently the 2nd ranked US Pro in the States. He has found his footing in the US racing scene, having graduated from the dry dusty mountains of South Africa, where he grew up. Geritt was a top junior rider in South Africa and rode as a Pro for the Morewood Team there in 2003. He was selected for the South African team for Worlds that year, but could not go as he is a US citizen. He has excelled this year in the NORBA series with top 10 finishes virtually each time out.

Lisa Myklak, Pro Women rider out of Denver Colarado was also selected and is currently the 2nd ranked US rider on the Norba circuit. Lisa is a well known rider in the Mountain States Series where she has consistently been winning the Pro women downhill events. Richard Beytagh, of Morewood Bikes USA, is very pleased with his team’s performance this year. And so he should be – his team have had podium finishes at every Norba this year and to have 3 members of fairly small team going to Worlds speaks volumes as to the quality of the riders and the Morewood Bikes. It’s a tribute to a great bike and its hands-on designer, former South African National DH Champion, Patrick Morewood
