This is Team Paradise Racing and we are currently getting ready for our 6th successful snowcross season on the Rock Maple Racing Circuit (Central Division). Mike, who is now 19, has done very well in the past and expects to do extremely well this year in the semi pro division. After being accepted into Arctic Cats race program for the past 5 years, mike had jumped ship at the end of last years race season and started riding ski doo for team D and Z racing. Now accepted into Ski doo’s race program and riding the new MXZX TNT race sleds his expectations are very high for the outcome of this years snowcross season.
Training Regiment:
Mike’s Training regiment consist of Cardio 6 days a week. Lifting the upper body Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Then lower body Tuesdays and Thursdays. He trains for snowcross on his dirt bike atleast once a week and goes to any races he can on the weekends. He eats healthy and also keeps his body in good condition.
Team Support includes John and Helena Tietjen.
Qualifications:
Through out the years and in the past we have been very successful here at Paradise Racing and have aquired many sponsors over the years. These sponsors include Lee Decorating Inc. (Owned by John Tietjen), Gleco Paint and Wallcovering, Floor Mart, Dayco Belts, Sunteck Logistics, C&A Ultra Pro Skis, NGK, Utopia Optics, M2R Helmets, Klim Aggressive Sled Wear, Fiber Wise Pasta, Studboy, and Ski Doo. During the season we acknowledge our sponsors at every chance we get.
Vehicle:
This season Mike will be riding the new 2008 Ski Doo Factory MXZX TNT race sleds out of there new 48 ft Double Stacker Race Transporter.
Accomplishments:
Mike Tietjen:
2002-2003: Top ten in jr novice fan class.
2003-2004: top ten in lower jr fan and 5th overall in lower jr liquid.
2004-2005: Season ending injury with a broken collar bone. Before broken collar bone mike was 1st in sport open and 3rd in sport 500 and 600.
2005-2006: Semi Pro 440- 11th
Semi Pro 600- 8th
Semi Pro Open- 15th
2006-2007: Started season with a broken shoulder blade and a seperated shoulder while trying out for x games in Minnesota at the Duluth National. The shoulder injury affected Mike for more then half the race season.
Semi Pro 440- 12th
Semi Pro Open- 12th
End of 2006-2007 riding Ski Doo: After one weekend of riding Ski Doo Mike finished 2nd in Semi Pro Open at Toggenburg, NY event and also finished in the top 5 in both pro classes that weekend. He was also the number 4th qualifiar in the stock final at Windham Mountain, NY but got hit in the open final in a turn and could not compete for his stock final.
Goals:
Mike’s goals for this upcoming Snowcross season are to dominate the Semi Pro class in the RMR Central Division and to go to Minnesota in the beginning of the year and qualify for X games.
