Overview

How I got started

In 1976 my family moved in to a house that backed up to the woods where there were trails upon trails. The area at that time was abuzz with dirt bikes and I would watch them ride all weekend long. It took me two years to convince my parents that I would not kill myself and finally I scored a 1978 Yamaha GT80. Its was in 1983 that a friend of my named George Evens brought me to a race to watch him and his older brother Dav race a MAMA event. I was hooked, not long after I had a 1983 YZ80 between my legs and I didn't stop racing until I joined the Navy.

Goals for the Future

Staying up front and not wrecking my brians out.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

Three daughters and a wife, I`m the only dude in the house. Even the cat is a chick. If I didn't spend a Sunday at the track my toe nails would be pink and I would be playing Polly Pockets all day. Seriously I love to be on the track riding because all of life's distractions disappear when you are trying to beat the guy to the next corner. It's a feeling that I can't really put into words, I just love to ride and race.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I was at a small party with my girl friend now wife. We were all telling stories and jokes and it was all a good time. Now I`m sitting on the couch and my girl is sitting on the floor with her back resting on the couch between my legs. We`ve been there all-night and I was throwing down beer and bean dip the whole time, well somebody tells a great joke and I laugh hard so hard I fart. Yep I fart loud and on my girls head. I must have turned three shades of red. I still can`t believe she married me after that one.

Why do you like this sport?

The sport of Motocross is not only fun and entertaining but family orientated. It was a fun time as a kid to have my Dad take me to the races and hang out. Now that I`m a Dad I take my oldest to the track and it's nice to spend the day together. And when my wife and I can find sitter for the younger two she joins me at the track as well. Also on the occasions that you need to borrow a tool or even a spare part you just need to look over to the family next to you and ask.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I`ve been married for 5 yrs and have three daughters a 3, 5 and an 11 yr old. I think having three daughters is Gods way of paying me back for my youth. I work in the IT field as a network admin. Its a lot of sitting around so I work out before work everyday at 4:45AM to stay in riding shape.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train as much as I can. I workout in the morning before work every day during the week and sometimes after. I never seem to have enough time to practice but I do manage to get a day of riding in on a non- race day.
