We had a great race weekend in Oklahoma, the best yet of any of my performances. In my class, there are two national-level drivers, one of them, Sean Owens, has multiple national wins. I qualified 2nd the first day and 2nd the next by only 1 THOUSANDTH! The kart drove great, I had multiple passes on both Sean Ownes and Quinton Dawn, who were able to take the places back on the straightaways.
My eventual 2nd and 3rd finishes were even sweeter because of how hard I made both Sean and Quinton work for them. They are great drivers and great guys.

The next weekend is going to be in Katy, Tx. and I can't wait to check out the track. The kart is really strong and only suffered minor bruises from NTK. I'm heading up to Katy in 2 weeks to practice ahead of time. I hope I can continue a successful season.
Right now I have 172 points in the series, which ties with 2nd and 3rd place. After Katy I should be sitting towards the top in points if the NTK competitors don't come up.

Well, I just got back from the first event in the Southwest Regional Championship in Denton, Texas. It was a lot of fun and there was tough competition in the Rotax International Class. There were 6 of us, 4 who are longtime members of the host track.
On Saturday I qualified 5th and finished 5th, I got stuck behind a slightly slower driver at the start and because the track was so narrow and there were few places to pass, it took me some time to pass him to reclaim 5th.
Sunday favored me much more than Saturday. I qualified 6th (5th and 6th were separated by a very narrow margin). In the first turn of the final, 2 of the drivers found themselves tangled up in turn 1, I was able to avoid the incident and hold 4th until the end. There was a penalty placed on the kart that finished 3rd and he was bumped to 5th, pushing me up to podium!
I am setting my sights on the upcoming event in Katy, Texas and hopefully I'll do well.
