About Me

Well I'm hooked on MTB and my life revolves around the sport. I do it as much as I can, which includes between commitments such as work and studying. I was born in England and then moved to Scotland when I was 2 and have lived there ever since. I'm just over 6ft tall, have longish brown hair and medium build. I love to keep fit and achieve this by taking part in many sports including MTB and soccer and by also eating healthily.

I have been cycling all my life, right back when I was 6, maybe younger I cant remember! Everything changed when I was about 15 because I went to an actual Mountain Bike trail centre, Glentress. Back then the only trails available were cross-country routes and lots of singletrack which was awesome. However, when I turned 17 they had developed a Freeride track and I was amazed. The track had about 20 tabletops, a few hips, drops, skinnies, wallrides and a funbox. To this day I still love the place and I try and go every 2 weeks.

I've also had the privilege of riding in the Alps e.g. Porte Du Solei. This was one of my favourite holidays - 2 weeks of full on downhill mountain biking!! I rode many tracks when I was there and pushed my limits to ride them and for sure i'll be going back in the near future.

Aside from biking I also go to university to study Business Computing and I love it. Meeting new people is always awesome and finding out about their different cultures is quite fascinating. I was also delighted to hear that certain university's run MTB clubs and give you the chance to compete in student only events (BUSA), I know a few people competing in these and they inform me that its great and I think i'll give the downhill event series a shot next year.

Thanks for looking at my profile and while your here have a look at my pics and vids.

Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

This sport is like a drug, I cant stop doing it and hope I still feel this way in years to come. I do the sport because I love the freedom and the fact that you can build anything you want if you set your mind on it. I know there are many younger kids being forced to compete and find this quite sad as some of them don't enjoy it.

What inspires you to compete?

At this moment in time I am not competing however I would like to try MTB on a more competitive level but have decided to wait until I get a driving licence which should only be a couple of months as I'm taking lessons as we speak.

How's Life Treating You?

Life is awesome. I go to university in Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, and love it. I believe MTB has made myself more sociable because when I go biking I meet loads of different people each time I go and find it interesting hearing their backgrounds and watching them ride is always great. So at university I have found it easy to meet new and interesting people. During Summer break I work my ass off to ensure I can keep my bike running smoothly and to keep me doing this sport!

Describe your style...

I've been told I'm a stylish rider which is great news because it feels like that when I'm riding!! I love to rip down the trail and just feel the flow especially if theres a group of you and you can see the guy in front of you and hear the others ripping behind you, basically just an adrenaline pumping sport - thats why I love it:)

Music?

This is quite important to me, I tend to stray towards the heavier side of music with bands like Megadeth and Trivium BUT love most kinds of music. Favourite bands are the two mentioned above, Rise Against, Rage Against the Machine, Priestess, Hilltop Hoods and Cypress Hill.
