What I'm doing to make a difference...

Untitled Document Well where do I begin? Well first things first. I am 15 years old, and I absolutely love the amazing sport of cycling. But there are a couple things that I think make cycling so cool. First of all of course it's one coolest sport in the world! But second of all and I get to raise money for children suffering from cancer. Now I can't explain how much this means to me.

You may be wondering "what made you think of that" well I actually herd of the idea through a local banker named Eric Cook. What Eric has done is made an organization called Pedaling With A Purpose. Now this organization is for people who want to make a difference by raising money for their desired charity. I decided to do the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF). For a few reasons.. One is because I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer when I was just Nine months old. Now today I am living strong and have an awesome life! But unfortunately many children aren't as fortunate as I was.

As you are reading this! Somewhere in America there are 7 children fighting cancer that won't live through the day... Cancer is THE leading cause of death by disease in children. Cancer kills more children than Cystic Fibrosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Asthma, and AIDS... combined! It can happen to any one at any age. It could be your daughter, your son, you grandchildren, or even your neighbor. 1 in 330 children will develop cancer before the age of 20. On average of 46 children are diagnosed with cancer every day... Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer found in infants. The average age of diagnosis is just 2 years old, nearly 70% of those diagnosed have disease that has spread to other part of the body. And children have less than a 30% chance of survival when evidence at diagnosis shows that Neuroblastoma has spread. Each year 3,000 kids die of cancer. Funding for Research has been cut! The cure has not been found and children are dying. if it were your child would this be acceptable? You can make a difference! Make a pledge for a cure. Write to your representatives and urge them to restore funding for the thousands fighting today, and the thousands yet to begin the battle. One lost is one to many... Please aid us in changing the world and help us keep breathing...
