What inspires you to compete?
My wife. Even though she has Mulitple Sclerosis, she still is one of the most physically fit people I know. She is such a motivator. She continues to train even though she faces a constant battle with this disease. She supports me and pushes me to race and strive to be better. She's my best friend, my buddy, my pitgirl, my gridgirl and my cheerleader. She's also my wife.
Some Personal Information About Me:
Several years ago, I was 40 pounds overweight and having serious health issues. After one-too-many visits to the doctor (a few involving CT scans), I vowed to change the way I was living and get into shape. I dropped the weight and have been very active in running, cycling ever since. Even though I am in better shape now then I was in the Air Force, I wanted to get better at the sports and in even better shape. Competing was the next logical step. This means pushing myself both physically and mentally.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
My schedule consists of: bike 2x/week, swim 2x/week, run 2x/week, and strength training 3x/week.
