Lipz Panelz was founded in 2005 with high hopes to be the largest BMX number plate manufacturer in the industry. Realizing that this lofty goal was unattainable in a short period, the founders sold the company in 2007 to Ryan Hanson of Aberdeen, SD. He enlisted the help of Production Monkeys to develop a one-of-a-kind design it yourself engine for the site.
The new site with the Design Your Own Plate engine was unrolled in the 2009 racing season and revolutionized the way that BMXers buy their plates.
Once again, the vision of becoming the industry's largest number plate has become the Lipz battlecry.
