stupid competitions with friends to win old trophies....wheelie contest, seat bounce contest around the whole track (jumps and landings), goon trick contest, etc.... Great times even got a couple motos in.

Almost decided on new bikes. Can't decide whether to ride honda's or kawi's. One of the dealers told me I could race 2 classes on one vin number. Anybody know for sure if this is true?

Family....Loving Life Right Now

Just got my new bikes - 07 RMZ 450 & 07 RMZ 250.  Ready to pimp them out and tear it up!

This year's Wild West National Series was a lot of fun.  The season ended in Rupert, Idaho and I was proud and relieved after I accepted the Over 25 Pro Championship Plaque.  


We made a lot of new friends over this series as well as re-connected with old ones from the pits from years ago.  I really enjoy racing the regional competitions because at most races you don't know every guy on the line, it makes you really focus and up your game.


I am still on my trusty RM250 - I just am not a big fan of the 4strokes.  I know that I've gotta bite the bullet and start competing on a 450, but it was awesome to still go out there on my 250 and smoke those bigger bikes.  Trust me it wasn't easy, they'd pull me like crazy all over the track and I think I still have bruises from the rocks they'd sling. . . . but that just propelled me more to stay ahead at all times!


It was a great series that helped me in conditioning to get in shape, ride as much as possible, up my endurance, and was definitely a big confidence boost too.  We are really looking forward to racing another series next summer.  We're not sure which series yet, Wild West, Pac West, Pacific NW, but spending the summer at a different track every weekend is where you'll find us! :)


The last few rounds the WW website crashed and I haven't been able to get my point standings to update on this site, which kind of stinks.  If anyone has the series points - send 'em my way!

We`ve just gotten back from Round 6 of the Wild West Nationals in Kimberly, Idaho. This summer`s racing season has been a lot of fun. It`s been great to see our son excelling on his Pro Senior (last year on a 50!), and Josh has been doing so good both on and off the track to stay race-ready and motivated. Josh`s endurance is up and it`s awesome to watch him fight for top 3 in every moto. Being one of the few 2 strokes in his class it`s apparent that next year we`ve gotta bite the bullet and have him on a nasty 4 stroke that`s set-up for him. I think he`d definitely have the upper hand out there! The best part about this summer`s racing is that we`ve really been doing it as a family, traveling lots of weekends, making tons of friends at the tracks, making lots of memories, promoting our sponsors (had to throw that one in there), and I am so proud of both my boys out there racing.
Kimberly was cool because of the logistics and style of their whoops - which happen to be Josh`s specialty - strangers would comment on how hard and fast he would fly through them. Price and Ogden were both cool because of all the corners and jumps - Josh can stuff like no other!!
I`ll try and check in again after the series, but I thought that I`d just share a few thoughts and my support in both attending the races, competing as a family, and how awesome it is to have two guys to watch who truly love what they`re doing and it shows!

I just got back from ogden, ut. Round 2 of the wild west nationals. I am racing the 25+ pro class to try and get my body and wrist back in shape. A broken navicular takes a little more time and patience then any other broken bone.

Anyway, saturday went off ok. I had good expectations and put in extra laps at my practice area the week before. There were 14 racers and in my mind I figured I would end up midpack because these guys had been training and no injuries. I am not one for starts, I think in all reality mike larocco could pull better starts than me. Just kidding. Well, the gate dropped and I got the jump, I went into the first corner in 3rd. This was way better than I had expected. Confidence was soaring, until my buddy arm pump kicked in. Well to make a long story short I did the fade back to 5th, but surprisingly enough I made it through.

2nd moto saturday - Bad jump off of the gate, entered the first corner in 8th. Had some good passes on the first two laps and worked my way up to 3rd, but once again my buddy arm pump kicked in. I ended up 5th after all that. Pretty dissappointing.

Overall Saturday - 5th overall

Sunday - Ahh, sunday the day of revenge for my buddy arm pump.
1st moto - Good jump off of the gate, ended up 6th in the first turn. With a few creative lenty passes I worked my way up to 4th. Almost made it through the whole moto. Arm pump kicked in with 2 laps to go. I was lucky enough to have a big enough lead to keep my 4th place.

2nd moto - I felt good and relaxed for this moto - something I have not felt since I broke my navicular last may. Maybe a little too relaxed for my start was horrible. I ended up 8th into the first corner. This infuriated me enough that I forgot all about my buddy arm pump and left him behind. Within 3 laps I worked myself up to 2nd and just kept on going. My buddy arm pump caught me on the last lap but my lead was big enough to keep 2nd. Oh, Yeeaahhh !!

Sunday overall - 2nd

I am just getting back into riding. In May of 2005, I was competing at an idaho state series race. I was third in points going into this race. It was a sunny day but they had over watered the track. ( Don`t tell me they`ve never done this to you before.) It wouldn`t have been too bad except that they kept watering the track every lap in different locations. Well, to make a long story short, I had pulled the holeshot in my 125 Pro moto, I was pulling away when on the 4th lap in the race I came into an off-cambered corner. It was overwatered and I knew it, but by the time I knew what was going on, I was on my head. Somehow, my rmz250 found traction under all that muck. Well, one second I was going one way and the next going the other. Somehow, I ended up highsiding and throwing myself in front of my bike. My right hand got stuck between the clutch lever and the handlebar as my bike continued to runover my chest. Don`t ask me how it happened because I am still scratching my head trying to figure out what happened! Well then my bike decided to keep my hand stuck between the handlebar and clutch lever as it pummelled me into the ground. When it was all said and done with, I got up and to start my bike and get going. That is when I decided my wrist was hurting a little bit. I couldn`t hold on to my bike and my hand was pretty numb. I went back to the truck, sat down, relaxed and waited for all the motos and the awards to end. I knew something was broken, but it was the fourth time breaking my right wrist, so it was a common thing for me, or so I thought. Turns out that I broke my navicular, and it`s been hell ever since.
So, with a lot of duct tape and a wrist brace, I am slowly getting back to speed, almost a year later! My first race back is at the Wild West Nationals in Mesquite, NV on march 27th. Wish me luck!!!
