Overview

How I got started

I started racing in 1995, and immediately fell in love with the sport. My instant dream was to become a local pro. Once I had achieved my goal, I was ready to train and race some nationals. But "Life" took over; I started a family, a business, and had to work to support them and my racing. For a while I was content to be a has-been local pro. My son is now 10 yrs. old and is starting his racing career. My son`s start into racing has renewed my fire, and with that fire I have begun to train & ride once again. My races since I have been back have been successful, finishing in the top 3 every race. My fire is back and I am on track to take Idaho by storm in the `08/09 season and beyond!!

This last summer was a little bit disappointing.  I had trained all year to race the wild west nationals and all the local series.  Somehow I ended up with viral meningitis and was sidelined for about 1 1/2 months.  It hit me when I was at the Idaho Vet Nationals.  I had almost one this race last year with  3-1-2 finishes.  Needless to say very disappointing.  I have spent the rest of the summer getting better and training.  We still went to the track and supported our son.  I still ended up having a decent year racing.  We spent about every weekend at the track and it was fun to have something we could do as a family over the summer and also watch my son grow in skill and seat-time as he competed too.

Goals for the Future

To make this year count! With a new lease on life and current occupation that will allow necessary riding & racing time, plan to take on local and Regional racing circuits. I plan on racing the Pac-West series, Pacific Northwest Series, select Wild West Nationals, and all local series, which include Idaho State Series, OMC Winter Series, OMC Summer Series, Chaparral Raceway, and White Knuckle Racing. In addition to all of these, my son will be trying to qualify for amateur nationals, so I will try to qualify in my classes also. I hope to start a local racing team, and will support and advertise the companies willing to help out my racing career and our little team.
