Legion's Rogers Brothers, Nate Haag, Ted Culbertson, and Alternate Vince Blanton rolled up to the streets of Red Lodge early on Friday the 8th.
The entire crew met up at the Snow Creek Saloon around 11:00AM and began construction on one of the craziest events that Red Lodge has seen in a while.
With loads of dirt, pylons, snow fence, a ramp, and a mess of other things...a event site was constructed in about a day and a half. Nate Haag commanded the construction efforts that went into our precious landing.
Crowds started showing up at the event to witness the riders do their thing around 2:00PM-3:00PM on Saturday the 9th. The site turned out to be pretty sketch. Running a little short on run in, run out, and gap space...riders performed exceptionally well to pull off a spectacular show.
Nate Haag found the eject button twice during the Saturday show due to a broken ski-loop and sketchy run-in. He wasn't injured and shortly there after Jimmy Blaze performed a backflip to finish the day off and the crowd went crazy.
Blaze had to return to a filmshoot during Sunday, but the Legion riders; Sam, Nate, and Ted put on a heck of a show. Sam had a rough hit when he came up almost a sled length and back sided the landing...but made an instant come-back and threw down his mastered cordova.
Nate finished the show off on Sunday with a backflip attempt on Johnny Mustang's new mini dirtbike and an insane holy man seat grab.
The city of Red Lodge loved the show and it is a likely situation that it will go down again next year.
Travis Rogers didn't ride this weekend, he was a little freaked out with the course (it was extremely technical). With a few weeks of practice he hopes to be on top of things in no time.
Legion will be training for the Winter-X qualifiers over the next few weeks, we'll keep you posted on how it goes.
