Motokazie.com - Illegal speed - Jordan 5-18-2007
This has to be one of the fastest Jordan Supercross events I have ever been to (especially since I wasn't racing to slow people down). The A rider / Pro class was almost too hard to capture with the speeds that Jade Dungey, Chad Sparks, and many others ripping up the track together. I haven't seen so many people over-jump the Motokazie triple quite like that before. The speed didn't stop at the A rider level, as many in the B and C classes seemed to outperform riders of last year by quite a large margin, with some (in my opinion) ready to take the jump up to the next class.
The kids on both Mini Quads, and smaller bikes did not dissapoint the crowd either. There was more than the usual one bike doing the triple in SuperMini, and there was some serious speeding through corners and whoops in the Min Quad class (that's right Mini Quads!).
But, why most of you are visiting is likely to see yourself in action. I am happy to report that I was able to get some decent images, and have posted a total of 554 to the site. Not all of them turned out, but I posted them anyway.
I have been getting bombarded (both at the track and via Email) with requests for full resolution photos on CD, I am considering making this become an offering for the site, however I absolutely do not want to turn this hobby into a job with customer expectations. Give me some time to think things over, and hopefully I can come up with a solution that works for both myself, and those wanting such pictures.

Spring is finally here, so much going on!
KC Race Promotions (2006 MXMatt)
Well as many of you have been aware of, spring is here and so is the riding season for 2007. Unfortunately for me, I haven't been able to get to any of the events starting this season off, however that doesn't mean that I am going to miss the entire season.
Hopefully things work out well, for me to attend the Motokazie quad race on the 13th of this month, and all future Elko Mankato races for Motokazie.com . Supercross races will be hit or miss for me all summer for MK, as I will also be taking photos at events held by KC Race Promotions out of Brained area, who has events scheduled for many of the dates that Motokazie does.
Keep tuned to this site for a tentative schedule of MX photography. Again, this isn't a business or job for me, I am into it for the thrill of riding, and capturing images of those that also love riding.
Good luck to everyone this season!

Motokazie - 9-14 & 9-22 Event Photos
I have now posted two events that have been highly sought after by both riders and parents alike. Since the 9-14 event photos have been posted on the gallery for over a week, the only real new item in the gallery is the 9-22 Cannon Falls race event photos. Both events had reasonably good turnout, especially considering the fact that they both took place during the normal school season, and directly after work for many of us older regulars.
Since I have still been too lazy to repair the front forks on my race bike, I again sat out these two events, and simply watched everyone else give it their all. Often because of my limited focus on the track, I don't often get a chance to actually watch the racing action, however I was able to step back and admire some truly magnificent races in many classes. These races were not strictly limited to bikes, as there were a few great battles going in in all quad races too. In fact, I think the quad racing was the best part of the Cannon Falls event, which would have me at the edge of my seat if I wasn't already standing on the track.
I would like to commend Tyler Mack, Bo Schuette, Mike Will, Reid Gerhardt, and Peter Benicasa for what I would like to call good sportsmanship on the track during their respective races. There were quite a few times when both Ego and competitiveness could have caused actions from each of these racers to better their position, and in all cases these actions never happened. It is nice to NOT see people stuff their competitors into a corner, cross lines, or do otherwise tasteless acts during a race, just to get one spot ahead. At the end of the day we all share the same goal to win, but it is great to see people put that aside for both the safety and overall camaraderie our sport really needs. All of these people (and likely many more that I did not notice) deserve recognition for this, and hopefully they continue this attitude going forward!

2006 Motokazie Scholarship Winners

Hitching Post Sportsman Award
Shane Rhode can be seen at most Thursday Elko Practices and all of the Motokazie Motocross races. He has been racing for 7 years, starting at age 6, and has competed in the Motocross series for 4 seasons. He is a quiet, respectful young man that is known for his sense of humor and positive attitude at the track. He has won 3 awards this season in the Motokazie Motocross series, including 1st place in the 85cc 9-12 class, 2nd place in the 85cc 12-15 class and 3 place in the Supermini class. In the District 23 series he finished 6th overall in the 85cc 9-12 class and 8th in the 85cc 12-15 class. This year’s winner of the 2006 Hitching Post Sportsman Award is #181 Shane Rhode.
Honorable Scholar
John Liebl has only been racing for about 4 years; and wasn’t able to do much. He has not had much financial support, so he’s been doing pretty much everything on his own. This rider finished 3rd in the 125B class in the Supercross Series.
He graduated with a 4.0 from Montevideo Senior High last spring and is currently a student at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He states that his goal is to graduate in 4 years with a degree in mechanical engineering. This year’s winner of the Motokazie Honorable Scholar Award is #802 John Liebl.
Chasing the Dream
Ryan Orres has been racing for almost 10 years. He has definitely taken his racing career very seriously in those 10 years, working at improving his abilities every year. He has purposefully raced at several different tracks to test his skills in a variety of track conditions. Just by reading his application, it is clear that he wants to improve; and be the best rider he can be, not just the fastest. His goal for 2007 is to qualify for Loretta Lynns, and race at the Ponca City Amateur Nationals along with the Branson Amateur Nationals. This year’s winner of the Motokazie Chasing the Dream Award is #512 Ryan Orres.
Curt Braulick Memorial Award
Motokazie, with the help of Dale Braulick, held a Memorial race at the Mankato MX race on 7/9/06 in honor of Curt Braulick, Dale’s brother. Curt was an avid dirt bike rider and motorsports fan. He passed away in 2005 due to a dirt biking accident. The Mankato Memorial race raised $115 to be donated to the Curt Braulick Scholarship Fund; and the Braulick family has raised $285, for a total award of $400. This Scholarship will be awarded to a motocross rider who exhibits the same characteristics Curt was known for = positive attitude, sportsmanship, and a love for motorsports.
Bo Schuette has actually just completed his first year of racing. In his application he said that racing his bike is his favorite past time. He also stated that he’s made a lot of new friends; and feels like the racing community is like a second family. He has learned this year to Never give up, because continuing thru will only make him better at riding and everything he does in life. This year’s winner of the Curt Braulick Memorial Award is # 09 Bo Schuette
