I began lifting in 1994 as a freshman in High School. By 1996 I had broken the school record for bench pressing. I began to compete in the WABDL in 1997. My senior year in high school I benched 405 lbs which still holds a school record. I have competed in the following weight classes: 181, 198, 220, 242 and 275. I have competed in Teen Men, Junior Men, Open Men and Law and Fire Open. Recently I competed at 275 in the open division in a local S.S.A. meet. I finished with a 505 Lbs Raw. In November I competed in the WABDL World Championship finishing 3rd pressing 633.7 an Oregon State record. Currently I am training in Oregon City, Oregon at the Nelsons Nautilus Power Pitt. There I am training with 4 other world class lifters. History and accomplishments: 1997: I competed in a local APF meet and finished in 1st place. Later in the year I competed in a WABDL meet and finished 2nd. This qualified me for the World Championship. Which I finished in 1st place. In 1998: I competed in two WABDL meets including the World Championship. In both meets I competed in Teen men and Open Law/Fire. Both meets I placed 1st and took the best lifter award. 1999: I competed in six WABDL competions including the World Championship. And failed my fourth attempt of 615Lbs. 2008: I competed in SSA meet finishing in 1st place and earning the best lifter award. Finishing with 505 lbs raw. In 2009 I plan on competing in 1 APF meet, 2 SSA meets, 1 USAPL meet and 2 WABDL meets including the world championship. In 2010 I will be competing in the Can-AM Police and Fire world games. This will be held in Dublin, Ohio. My goals for 2009: Bench 700lbs at 242lbs. Due to a birth defect I place my legs straight out on the bench. This gives me no balance or leg drive.
