Overview

How I got started

I started riding when I was two years old but my parents wouldn't let me race. When I was seven years old I pit crewed for a season for my best friend who rode the 65cc class. At the end of that season I raced my first race. I rode a Suzuki JR80 in the 65cc class and I finished 4th out of 40 riders.

Goals for the Future

I will train everyday on my own personal supercross track to prepare for the National Arenacross circuit.  I have been training with pro riders to help prepare me to achieve my goals.  For the 2010 season my goal is to finish in the top ten of the lites class in arenacross.

Bio

Why do you like this sport?

Because it's a sport that you do alone. Once you're on the gate its all you.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Hi, my name is Kyle Wood and I am 15 years old and in the 11th grade. I know school is very important. Our family rule is that I must maintain an A average before I can train, ride and race. I am very personable and get along great with everyone.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train everyday. I workout, unicycle, spinner bike and ride on my supercross track during the week and train on fast tracks on the weekends that I am not racing.  During a pratice day I use 5 gallons of fuel.  I believe that you must give 100% in order to reap the benefits.

Why do you compete?

Because I want to be the best.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

The best professional supercross rider.

Competitive Highlights

In June 2006 at the age of 12 I raced the Budds Creek Pro National Amatuer Day and finished 4th in the 250 class and 6th in the 450 class.  It is a great track and a lot of talented riders were racing.

In November 2006 at the age of 13 I raced my first Intermediate race and finished 9th out of 42 riders.

After having a complete knee reconstruction and being off for an entire season, my first race back was an arenacross and I won Schoolboy, 250 Int, 450 Int and the open class.  Nice to get back out there!!
