What can I say? I started riding trail bikes in 1982 with my first bike being the coveted XR75. By the time I was 16 I seemed to be more interested in Cars, girls and work. I played school sports for a few years which included Wrestling and Football. In 1997 I moved back to Washington State from Alaska where I had lived for 5 yrs. I went to the Seattle Supercross and was like man I was fast as a kid I can do that. I could afford a 1985 Cr250 at the time and I went to Poker Runs and did trail riding. I was introduced by some guys I was riding with to Motocross and went to a local track called Ward Creek MX. I was immediately hooked and by the following year I was racing a local event called Mudslingers. I felt I needed a newer bike so I purchased a 1998 Cr250. I have been Racing off and on(due to finances and injuries) since 1998. I absolutely love the sport and as long as I can stay healthy I can continue to improve. I am blessed with a few friends who have practice tracks that I can ride on and develop my skills. In my 11 yr Amateur Racing Career I have been on the podium several times in the Beginner class and have yet to seal up a podium spot in the Junior Class. I have made top five in the Vet sportsman class a few times but never 3rd or better. I have had my right ACL rebuilt, fractured my pelvis, broke six ribs, suffered a skull fracture with swelling on the brain, broken my orbital socket, and tore my MCL in my left knee, currently I have a completely disrupted ACL in my left knee but with lack of Health Insurance and the help of my CTI Knee braces I am able to still ride and compete and I don't believe it has prevented me from progressing in the sport. I hope my sponsors and future sponsors appreciate my dedication to this sport. I am not getting any younger just wiser and more developed. I attend my local Anytime Fitness 4-5 days a week with two days of Weight Training and four days of Cardio on the elliptical machine which is low impact on my knee.
Thank you to all Sponsors and future Sponsors for taking the time to read about this 38yr old Kid.
Sincerely,
Kort Bowerman
