For me it is not so much about the competition but rather my love for skateboarding. I love just going out with my friends and having sessions. The less pressure and tension that is on the more fun I have skateboarding. This in turn enables me to skate harder, learn new tricks and try bigger obsticles. All I have is love for the sport but playing a game of skate or a a session that turns into a "contest" is always fun.
Definatly when my Mom and Dad found naked pictures of my girlfriend...WOW. It is a great experiance to have in your back pocket to one-up anyone telling a funny story.
Skateboarding is a sport like any other I have ever played. I make the rules and as long as I am having fun on my skateboard it does not matter what anyone else is doing or thinking about my style. Skateing to me has an artistic form and the feeling over carving on your board is unlike any other. The satisfaction of stomping a new trick never hurts eaither.
My style depends on how I am feeling that day. I believe I have two styles that dominate my skateboarding and they are quite different. Usually I skate fast and throw myself down the largest gap or stair sets I can find. Other times when I'm really feeling intune with my board I skate slower, smoother and almost as if I am using my board as a paint brush to create a picture. A consistant and calm flow usually dominates when I am more chilled out.
Life is flipping amazing! things are going very well today and I just things a day at a time. Life always throws new obsticles at you so I try to deal with life on life's terms. This method has been working very well for me and I try to apply it to all areas of my life, including skateboarding. Everyday I wake up I make the best of the twenty-four hours God has given me because there is no telling if there will be a tomorrow. This concept may sound like a grim outlook on life but it enables me to make the most of my day and enjoy the little things life has to offer.
