Why do you like this sport?
It`s fun hanging out with all my friends. I`m actually closer to my race buddies than any of my school friends. Plus there is no better feeling to me than hitting a deep loamy berm and leaning so far over that the handle bars drag. The feeling you get after fininshing a 20 minute moto with the best racers in the country is equally awesome. To me it is the best way to spend time with my family. It`s the best sport ever!
Some Personal Information About Me:
I am 16 yrs old and I live in Millville Minnesota. I go to school in Lake City. I run Cross Country in the fall to keep me in shape and have a 3.2 GPA in school. I started riding motorcycles at age 4, and because my parents own Spring Creek Mx Park I am able to ride quite a bit. I race a Kawasaki 250F in the very competitive 125 B stk+mod and 16-24 B classes.
Describe your style...
My style is actually a bit funny. This is due to the fact that I can`t quite reach the ground on my 250F. There is only a few inches between my butt and the seat when I am standing. I would have to say that of the Pros my style is closest to Josh Grant, except that I have sicker whips!!
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
In the fall I participate in cross country for my school. We run 4-8 miles a day, 5 days a week. But otherwise throughout the rest of the year I train differently. In the winter I developed a training program that can be done while on the road, since we are traveling a lot. And in the summer I do lots of running and bicycling. As well I try to do sit ups + push ups + pull ups + wrist curls and other little work outs that help keep me in tip top shape to race motorcycles.
Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?
I would have to say that my funniest road trip was in the winter of 1999. My dad and I were with the Quinn`s in their Tahoe on our way down to Oklahoma to do some riding. We stopped at a gas station, and against the advice of the others, I bought a little too much pop (this is known as soda to non-Minnesooootans) and candy. About an hour later I began to feel a bit queasy. I then threw-up all over our luggage, race gear, food, and school work. On the return trip I again made the mistake of buying too much pop at a gas station. This time we had to keep pulling over for me to go to the bathroom. After about 5 or 6 stops, my dad finally made me just go in an empty Mountain Dew bottle. This time though, I did not spill all over the gear!
