Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

I have always been a competetive person and I have loved riding as long as I can remember. It is that thrill of the gate dropping. It is trying to be the first one to the turn with thirty nine other riders right behind you. It is fear that maybe this is too fast and the excitement of being at the top of my game. I compete because I love this sport.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I was at a race at Doublin Gap in Pennsylvania hot on the trail of another rider. I gave it everything I had and concentrated so hard on catching the rider ahead of me that I forgot to count my laps and look for the checkered flag. I pulled off a lap early, but it has happened to everyone. The worst races are the ones that make the good races so great.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

This last year I had just started my training schedual. Saturdays and Sundays are race days. I rest on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tuesdays and Thursdays I train with a motocross specific program targeting chest, back, legs, and arms. I also try to eat a healthy diet with minimal sugars, low protein, and high carbs. I believe mental fitness is often overlooked in most programs and I feel as though a good mental game is just as important as proper physical health.

Why do you like this sport?

When I think of motocross I think of a tough as nails sport with fierce competitors. It is absolutely brutal on a physical and mental level. Think mud, loam, blirstering heat, hugh berms, deep ruts, jumps, doubles, triples, high speed, and power. It is the perfect combination. And that is why I love this sport.

How's Life Treating You?

Great. I feel like I am at the top of my game right now. This comming 2008 season I am going for my AMA District 6 Motocross C and 250 C Championships. I have my bike dialed in and I think I am in the best shape of my life. Outside of motocross I have a band which is doing well, a great pickup truck which I just recently purchased, and I am moving into a new home.
