So, this is basically a complaining note for me. I just got done with my third day of cycling weather hell. On Friday, it rained...a lot. Saturday was the same but, it came with a twenty degree drop in temperature. And then Sunday, the worst of them all, it is currently 32 degrees with a 15 degree wind chill, the wind is gusting over 35mph, I decided it was perfect weather for a 3 hour ride. The first hour wasn't to bad. I got to the pool in fine condition and preceeded to demolish a swim session of repeat 1OO's. I hopped in the shower, warmed up, ate a GU, got dressed and then, faced HELL! The wind began to gust more often, the temperature dropped further, and the heavens began to dump a thin mist on me. After 3O minutes of head wind where I could muster a speed no greater than 15mph, I finally caught a break. Sadly, this was interrupted by nearly a hudnred preteen chearleaders crossing a street directly in my path. Now, I am not horribly self-concious but, when you get that many eyes staring at you as you gasp and shiver, shifting your body from side to side to find the optimum position, you get the creeps. After this lovely showing of parental hovering and caked on make up munchkins, I was back at it. I then hit the river road, big mistake. The wind hit so hard that, true story now, I got knocked into a curb which I bunny hopped and then after recovering from that fearful moment, I was hit once more. This time, the advantage went to Mother Nature. Deciding that I needed more controversy for the day, I got bitch slapped by the wind. It hit so hard that my speed cut in half, my mouth opened in a primordial act of surprise and, my wind jacket was literally torn off my back. Oh yes, the wind grasped my day old jacket and tore through all the seems, ripping it from my back. Well, the rest of the ride was colder and windy but, I survived. All in all, a good day of resistance training but, I miss my jacket.

Well, I have decided to enlist the services of a personal coach now and let's just say, it was a good decision. As luck would have it, my neighbor happens to be an extremely good triathlete who is a current age group world champ and therefor is the perfect person to have help me. This was one of those few times where I truly feel like I have taken a step way forwards. The workouts have been intense thus far but, it is what I wanted and I plan to keep on it.

Okay, so it has been awhile since I have had to write anything all that cheery but, I am proud to say that I am back to full training and am getting into pretty dang good shape. With the massive amount of base mileage for running that I accumulated over the winter, I feel like my 10k time will drop remarkably. Also, the swimming is going great with Tri and Water Polo practices keeping in the pool for 10-14 hours a week. I figure once it gets above freezing, I might even be able to get some decent rides in.

I have now been off of crutches for a week and, life is grand. I got to use an elliptical twice so far and am definately missing running more than before. Also on the good news, I am swimming like a champ, got a time trial crank set installed on my bike and, almost done with exams. All in all life is good.

So here we are, week two of hell. I am guessing nobody reading this knows what I am talking about so, time to drop some knowledge. On Easter I had a bike wreck that resulted in the tearing of my right LCL and have since been unable to do anything than biking with no resistance and swimming with no kick (both of which suck pretty badly). On the good news side, I am able to fully extend my leg again and should be off crutched in two more weeks. Also, I will still be going to Collegiate Nationals and the Olympic Trials for triathlons (eventhough it is to spectate and not compete I will survive). So all in all not the greatest time but hey, it could totally be worse.
