Overview

How I got started

John has been riding since he was two years old. He was riding quads and snowmobiles. He started riding a Honda XR 50 in 2003. When he went to a local track for the first time that day he realized that he needed a faster bike to keep up and beat the others. He got a 2003 KTM Senior in June of 2004. John is currently riding a 2006 ktm 65 and is practicing on a ktm sx85.

Goals for the Future

John is planning on racing this season and trying to finish in the top 10 of his class in D14.  He is currently trying to qualify for Loretta Lynns this year.   I am also learning to ride my 85.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

At the end of July I was doing a practice lap before my race and I was just taking off and going into a curve when another bike decided that he liked my line better and decided to T-Bone me and I went to the right and thought there was still land and there wasn`t and I went into the pond bike and all. Now everyone calls me Swamp Boy at that track.

Why do you like this sport?

John really enjoys this sport. He lives for this sport, all he every thinks about is racing. Recently his family was planning on a trip to California for a vacation and he was determined to stay home so he wouldn`t miss any races. (He did go to California with his family though) When John is not riding or racing he is constantly watching motorcycle racing on the TV or reading about it in the magazines.

Competitive Highlights

John has started out the 2007 racing season on a 2006 ktm 65  and is doing remarkably good. He finished in 3rd place in SR50 class in michigans district 14 with many wins. he also did very well on his ktm 65 he finished in 9th in michigans district 14.   In April of 2005 he was lucky enough to be picked as a contender in the KTM Jr Supercross Challenge at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac Michigan. John has improved tremendously since last year, he competed almost  every weekend last summer and really enjoyed himself. His goal this summer is to stay in the top 5 of his class.
