4/10/06 - Team Jelly Belly`s Matty Rice garnered the biggest win of his career, and one of the biggest ever for Jelly Belly Cycling, when he dominated the last lap on Monterey, California`s Laguna Seca Raceway (after winning the polka-dot King of the Mountains jersey) to grab the first place spot in the 2006 Sea Otter Classic!
Tasmania`s Rice got a big hand from his teammate and fellow Tasmanian, Caleb Manion. As the finish neared, Caleb attacked aggressively, breaking away from the main group. As they winded themselves chasing him down, Matty launched his own attack, surprising everyone but his own team and creating a gap that no one could close. Caleb finished in third place, making the winner`s podium awash in Sport Beans Green. It was a plan that worked to perfection and proof that success in a professional bike race takes much more than strong legs and lungs.

Jelly Belly would like to congratulate Matty, Caleb and rest of the team on their fantastic performance. They already have a lot to be proud of, and the cycling season is only beginning!
