Q&A - Self Interview
What are your racing plans for the 2010 season?
This season will be a first for our team as we have moved up the ranks from outlaw dirt karts to full size 305ci & 360ci sprint cars. This season will be our rookie season in sprint cars and we plan to race at the “Sprint car capital of the world” Knoxville Raceway on a weekly basis, and also Bloomfield, IA on a weekly basis. Since I was eight years old this has been a dream of mine and finally this upcoming season a dream will become a reality. We take our racing very serious and always look and act as professional as possible. In the past three years our outlaw dirt kart team was very successful showing that we are one of the premier outlaw dirt kart drivers in the nation. In three years we won over thirty A-Features, winning at five different states. We posted two top five’s and a top ten at the three biggest outlaw dirt kart races in the world(Got Milk?, King of the Wings & the Boogieman)

Whats the orgin of your number?
My dad Larry Ball Jr raced since he was 18 years old starting in go karts, he was always number 52 or 55. When he made the trasition to sprint cars in 1998 he changed to 5j J stading for 5(Jamie). Wanting to be like my dad and have a unique number i choose to be the 5JR. Now that im moving up and going to drive the family owned sprinter than ill be dropping the r and growing up to the #5J
What color is your car?
My car is black, having my sprint car black gives me alot of options of vinyl colors I can choose to make it stand out and be flashy to the fans. Black is also my favorite color.

How many A main wins did u have in 09?A main wins in your career? and what your points finish in 09?
I had a total of 8 feature wins in 2009. I raced 17 times and won 8 so almost had a 50% win rate. Throughout my career I have won 28 features in less than 4 years. Racing all over the country in Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Texas, and Montana. In 2009 I was the English Creek Speedway Open Class Points champion!!!!!

What inspires you to compete?
The desire to win, I live to race! Its a dream of mine to race sprint cars for aliving sometime after I graduate from College. My dad has been successful and I want to be a second generation driver and have just as much if not more success. The adrenaline, heart pumping action of dirt racing is what inspires me.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
Yes, I lift weights at Anytime Fitness Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I maintain a average weight of 150-155 lbs. I run 3 times a week and rest one day being sunday. I eat a very balanced diet and drink no pop or eat no fast food. I want to have the physical edge of my competitors.
Music?
I like alot of music, the type of genre I like typically depeneds on my mood and how awake i am. i like a variety from country, rap, hip hop, and rock. My favorite country band is Rascal Flatts, I recently went to their concert in Des Moines and it was amazing. I like Billy Talent which is an alternative rock, and some acustic like oasis and Jack Johnson. 50 Cent is also my favorite rap artist. Overall I like all music.
Some Personal Information About Me:
My name is Jamie Lee Ball. I'm 19 years old and I live in Knoxville Iowa. I attend college in Des Moines, IA Monday-Thursday and work for L & J Enterprise Inc part time. I like to hang out with my girlfriend, so swimming at the pool or beach, go to des moines and most of all race and work on any type of racecar. Racing is my life I live to race and thats how I wanna make a living.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I attend AIB College of Business in Des Moines, IA. I major in Business Adminstration Sales & Marketing. I am going for my Bachelors Degree. I have completed 5 1/2 terms out of the needed 11 so far. Then I dream to drive a sprint car 360 or 410 for a living. Thats my dream and thats what I wanna do. Maybe possibly run a racing business also.
