I recently got back from my downhill race in ParkField.  It's a tiny town(population of only 18!), near San Luis Obispo.  The course was supprisingly fun though(similar type of course as FireStone).  It had some sweet berms, some little jumps and drops, a drop to a cool g-out, and some smaller g-outs.  It wasn't really technical, but it had a section or two that was a little sketchy.  I got in some practice, and headed up to the top for my race run, but unfortunalty, someone crashed on the steep section towards the end, and had to be air-lifted out.  As you could imagine this caused the racing to be posponed for a little bit, but after that was all over with, the remaining racers headed up to the top.  I had a pretty good run though, that felt fast.  My friend who went down right behind me missed a berm towards the top, and wedged his front wheel between a tree, and the berm.  He flipped off his bike, and bent his rim.  This caused a considerable gap between our times, so when I was waiting at the bottom, I started getting my hopes up that I got a really good time.  We decided to stick around for the podiums, and I got 3rd, which was cool!  It was a fun race, and I'm looking forward to next year's ParkField Cassic.

I just registered for the NORBA Nationals in Sonoma. I`m going to race in the Sport 16 & Under catagory. I`m super excited because this is my fist year racing DH and I made it to the nationals. The race course looks pretty cool too. Well, I still have three weeks until the race, so until then, I`ll just be riding the local trails.
