How I got started
I was in my mid teens when I started getting serious about mountain biking. With the purchase of my first bike that had suspension (a Huffy Tremor) at age 13 and a Schwinn Moab 2 aluminum XC bike at age 15, I grew to love the sport. I did a lot of XC type riding and even raced in a few events hosted by local bike shops. In college, I started to get interested in freeriding and downhilling due to the discovery an abandoned rock quarry near my campus where riders had built jumps and a couple simple downhill trails. At first, even the smallest jumps and rocky sections scared me a lot, but my skills quickly improved and I grew to love to jump and ride fast over rough terrain. After graduating, I bought a downhill bike and have continued to improve my level of physical fitness and riding skills by competing in Downhill MTB races. Goals for the Future
My plan for next year is to race as an Expert level rider in the NORBA National Downhill Championship series.
