Isaiah rode his new frame this past weekend with great success.  He's quicker in the rhythms on his Podium.  On Friday, he beat his buddy, Parker, for the first time straight up.  He's beaten Parker in the past but with the aid of gravity (Parker falling).  He also beat Wyatt Glissmeyer on Sunday.  We consider both Wyatt and Parker to be benchmarks as they are THE riders to beat in the age group.  Saturday didn't go so well.  Isaiah washed out in turn three with a sizable lead.  The crash affected him for the rest of the night but we were proud of him to finish the final two motos after such a hard crash.

Isaiah is proud to be a new member of  the River Valley BMX Racing team.

Our first time doing one of these and, MAN, that is a long weekend.  Isaiah did well in his first two days.  The first night was a single points local race, Isaiah took 3rd in the main behind 5X Wyatt Glissmeyer and 6I Tristen Dains.  On Saturday, it was the double points pre-race and Isaiah took 3rd again, this time behind 6I Ren "Speed" Rasar and 6I Brennon Hart.  Isaiah also picked up a 3rd place in the 7 under Pit bike race.

Sunday's championship race was a completely different matter.  The 6 Intermediate class is pretty competitive.  We have some very nice riders, especially in our district.  In Isaiah's moto, he had a 2-2 qualifier and had a good race.  However, he sat down at the finish line and his buddy, Austin "The Nunchuck" Harasymczuk passed him crossing the line,  taking his transfer.  Disappointing, but we figured Isaiah would transfer in the second race.  Easier said than done.  In the second qualifer, Isaiah was squeezed in the first turn and hit the dirt.  He finished the race riding the whole track but there would be no transfer today.  It was the first time he hadn't made his main.  It was disappointing but a lesson was learned: pedal to the finish.  He did win some money in the pit bike race, so it wasn't a completely lost day.

It was a fun weekend and good experience.  We can't wait until next year.  Isaiah didn't race any SCRs this year because we got into the sport late but we will in 2009 and hope to get a state plate next year.  Congratulations to Isaiah's buddies who did well this past weekend.
