Competitive Highlights

  • Won my first Beginner Class series at Starwest due to my consistency
  • Won my first Novice Class Grand Prix in humid, 110+ degree weather
  • Won a GP with a flat front tire that I got on the first of six laps

Overview

My dad and friends got me into the sport, and when I thought I was fast enough, I started racing.  I began riding only desert on an XR100 when I was twelve. In Feb. `05, I got a CRF250X, and I began riding mostly at the local tracks once I realized I had suspension that could handle it.  I've spent about two G's in parts to make it a full-on motox bike.  Visually, the taillight is the only thing that makes it an X.  Four years later, it has been transformed into the bike below.

Q&A - Personal

What inspires you to compete?

I just love to ride, and racing gets me even more pumped up. I love sitting at the gate hearing all of the bikes revving, just waiting for the gait to drop. Plus, being surrounded by riders of near equal or slightly greater skill makes me want to push that much harder.

Why do you like this sport?

First, it is just flat out fun. Second, it is just you and your bike. Any mistake you make is purely on you. There are no other people to blame. Finally, this sport has obvious winners or losers. It isn't a popularity contest with judges, it;s who crosses the finish line first.

Employment / Experience Summary

I have really only had one job. Since February of 2007, I have worked at Corona Motorsports, which is only a few miles from my house.

Music?

Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Scorpions, Def Leppard, AC/DC... anything along those lines. I love the first two I mentioned, though.

What inspires you to compete?

Just the desire to be better. I got into this way to late to go pro, but I still want too get a lot faster than I am now. Going faster (under control) is just more fun.
