Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I just started riding a 1988 XR 100 and it was all uphill from there!

List your competitive highlights:

My biggest competitive accomplishment is easily going to Ponca City. I went all the way to Oklahoma for this race, and i did everything i wanted to do. I made it to the big show, and did not get embarassed by any means. I did really well competing against the best in the country.

What are you planning for next season?

I am planning on winning races in the SRAC circuit while pursuing the 250 B and Open B Championship. I need to get some help from sponsors if I want to achieve this goal. As a competing student, my money is limited, and a good sponsorship deal would help me get to the races every weekend.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

There are a lot of big accomplishments! I would have to say my biggest two are completing my sophomore year at Colorado School of Mines or doing so well at Ponca City in 2007.

Q&A - Personal

Some Personal Information About Me:

I was originally from Phoenix, Arizona but moved to Bayfield, Colorado. That is where it all began... I got a 1988 XR 100 just to ride, but as soon as i got on it i just felt like i wanted to go faster and faster until i eventually kept breaking it. Then my parents decided we should try to take it to the next level and they bought me a 2002 CR 80. That bike took me to my first of many wins. From there it has just been history. Me trying to go as fast as i can and show everybody that i have what it takes to race a motorcycle.

Why do you like this sport?

I love this sport because it is all about me. I win; I lose; I take all the blame but i also get all the praise. I also like seeing an almost unknown sport blow up to being something that everyone knows about and loves to watch. I also love telling people that motocross is my passion. It is something that i think my sponsors will really like.

What inspires you to compete?

The drive to win. I want to be the fastest guy there is. I have been working really hard on getting my race bike here with me in college, but now that i have it, i just feel so fired up to ride that it is insatiable. I have been riding so much and working to be the fastest. Whether I am just practicing out at the track or racing, I want to be the fastest no matter what.

Describe your style...

My riding style, so i have heard, is very smooth and very controlled. From what others have told me, i look very natural and very fluid while riding a motorcycle. I can put the bike wherever i want and it makes for good racing! The crowd really likes it.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

If i cannot make a decent living racing a motorcycle, I plan on being a Computer Science major at Colorado School of Mines. I am about to complete my freshman year, which i think is one of my biggest accomplishments. Approximately 35 percent of students do not make it through their freshman year, so i feel proud to have made it. Thank you.
