Its here, finally. The winter was great, snowboarding every weekend and many weekdays, couldn't get enough of it but its time for the sun to heat up my days and nights. As much as I love to ride a board, being in the heat and on the bike is amazing, in other words it rocks!!! I am stoked though, returning this season with some sponsors from last year which I am very thankful for and stoked about, Division 26 Clothing, Fluid, RB Components, Royal Racing, Utopia Optics and SIXSIXONE. Then we got some new teams on board with SDG USA, Azonic, Endurance Training Center and Rudy Project. All great stuff, all great companies to work with. To all of you, thank you all... for everything! This upcoming year, i have two new rides for Downhill and Dual Slalom which i can not wait to go out there an rip it both racing and just soaking up the fun with nature by riding as much as possible. Who can complain about that. Through out the winter i have been training feverishly due to a heavy summer schedule, the DH and DS races coming up as well with the Time Trial series in Maine and then in New England are my targets for the year. Last year I was spotted in a few triathlons and this year I will be full bore in the sport. Competing in Maine, New Hampshire and Mass. When it comes down to it, i love the sports, i can not get enough of them and competing in them makes things so much better. I am teamed up with Lindscott for road and has made things much easier for training, especially with a coach, I will be making a serious push to further myself in the sports of MTB and Road as well as Tri's. Last weekend I made a trip to Cape Cod in search of some warmer weather and certainly succeeded, with two gorgeous days of warm weather to ride in, I had two great days of 2.5 hour rides outside. I encourage everyone to do the same soon as they get the chance, well the people who live in the wintery areas of the U.S and the rest of EARTH. Not only was it a beautiful day for a ride outside but how strong i felt for the first time being off the trainer (yuck). It felt very confident and secure for the upcoming year. It is going to be a good one! The last thing I am going to leave with is, get out and ride, man, the economy sucks, who knows when it will go back UP, and honestly, who cares, just ride, ride to work ride to your friends houses, just ride, its fun and good for you and well, your own a bike! Who can complain, its that time of the year when I can start ride to school... Ahh I love this time of the year, it gets your blood moving with excitement to compete and just ride!

So the season of 2008 is over... what a ride. I had a great time, met some amazing people with some new friendships. The times spent on the bike for fun or for competition, was great. I always want to look ahead, but with the past season, it is hard not to look back. I can not express it enough how much fun I had, there were times of frustrations, but overall, it was a great time. However as much as I had a great time, i am looking forward to competing again in the summer of 2009! The taste of competition is strong and i am eager to get back out there! My drive is in full force and all i can do is sit, but it is good. I have set some new goals and the time for training has begun. I want to thank so many people the list could go on, but to all my sponsors, you guys were the biggest part to my success. Check out my page that dedicated to them, they are all worth the look. Thank you guys!!! From there, everyone who put the effort in to set up the events that i competed in and every event that was out there, with out them, we would have nothing. All of you put on a great show this past year, thank you.
If your out there, ill be out on the slopes of Sugarloaf teaching skiing/snowbaording, if not ill be cruising down the slopes or on the course for boarder-cross. Bike or board ill be pushing the limits for next year!
Thank you everyone, and have a great winter!

Hello everyone!!!! So I have been a bit MIA at the start of the summer, either way my apologies, especially to my sponsors, my deepest regrets. I just finished up May term for school which was crazy work for the last five days of the term. Right after all the papers and exams I had to motor off to Pats Peak in New Hampshire for a Downhill race in hopes to qualify for nationals. We will get to that later, it is more than just one sentence there. Soon as I got back from the race I had to start in on work for the summer. I love where I work, Portland Country Club where I work on the grounds crew of the course. I love it, outside, exercise, great people to work with and well im outside! I love to work so I end up working 11 to 12 hour days plus the money is a bonus. From there I have my training schedule which is 2 hours in a gym and 1 + hours on the bike, that is a long day and sometimes a run through the woods with the dog, she needs her exercise too, plus the work her nose. I do not mind a busy day one bit but at the end of it all, I am a bit tired, and hopefully Sophia, my dog, is tired too. So my summer is very busy but there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and with both mountain and road races on weekends sleep may become shorter than normal so……. please bear with my is I go MIA for a while.
I love my summer when they are busy, as much as they are for relaxing, working and biking is nothing more that pure love and a big smile on my face. So that is where I have been, working my tail off and riding my butt off! Cannot get any better than that, and one thing that has pulled me threw it all is the drive from my sponsors, not that say to win big, but for me to push myself to do the best I can, and that I know they have my back through it all. From the emails to the products everything they do helps me so much. From products such as Bombshell with their rims that are super strong to the RB Components that help my garage and me become a bit more organized with some sick style. Another is fluid that has pulled me through some lows; their product that they have created is a great piece of my success. From all the hours I work, to the road and mountain biking, it helps my recovery come much quicker. I spend a lot of time in the gym with the weights, and even then, fluid does what it is claimed to do!
I do not want to just single anyone one company out, honestly, to all of you, NYC Freeride, Royal, Monster (tasty), Utopia Optics, and the stunning Division 26 clothing, to all of you, two things: one, thank you for the support, with all of you and the you guys up top as well, thank you for everything! Two, my apologies for being so ascent, I have been so busy and making sure, school and training are my two biggest focuses right now.
To all of you thank you and to everyone else, I hope you are all out there riding hard and living and loving life especially with your bikes! Have fun since we only are here once, and try out some of these companies, you’ll love the stuff! So ride to have fun and make sure while having fun, kick some butt! But for now, go Celtics and I am going to bed!
Harris
another will be soon to follow of more biking focus.

2008 is in full swing! I am extremely excited to begin the racing season. Riding is a blast but competition is a great feeling. I had my first Time Trial race and I took fourth, there is always room for improvement, so hard work is still to come. I will say it is just like Christmas but all summer long with the excitement of riding and racing, cannot wait!
I do want to make one clear point…I want to thank all my sponsors so far (and hope more are to follow) for giving me the opportunity to ride for them. NYC FREERIDE, Utopia Optics, Fluid, Bombshell, Division 26 Clothing, Monster and Royal Racing. I love all their products, also a perfect fit with who I am as well as my riding, plus they are wonderful to work with. Please and you should check out all their stuff, you’ll be amazed. So far from what I have, I love it and cannot wait to get even more. Seriously, the cloths from D26 is just nutz and Royal has some sleek looking things, the rims from Bombshell, well I am looking forward to putting them through the ringer. Fluid, well from their products to their help one on one with me and training is just awesome, then NYC FREERIDE, keep doing your thing, it is WOW! Plus we all know how Monster is....Crazy! Again, thank you guys for everything and keep up the good work.
Well, I hope to see you out there riding, or haring about your day from the trails or the course. Next one is in Kennebunk for the Time Trial race and end of May is the first DH race, can’t get here sooner!
Happy Trails,
Harris

I figured I should introduce myself so first off, my name is Harris Navelski and I wouldn’t want anything more than to be riding a mountain bike till the day I am laid to rest. If there is anything that can be ridden, then I’ll give it a shot. Anything with two wheels is so much fun, from my time trials bike to my mountain bike, even to my first bike which I still have, riding is more than for being outside and for the exercise. Riding a bike to me is relaxing and brings a smile to my face. Add in some competition and whoa, let’s go!!! I love to fish, add in a bike and you’ll never see me again. I love the outdoors and I was given that love by my father who taught me more than 100 years in school ever could have. He is my hero and biggest motivator even after his death. I will say I miss him terribly and will miss coming down the course seeing him there standing next to his chair yelling to pedal harder. I have a dog Sophia who is my little girl and without her the following day wouldn’t be the same. I love broccoli and I wish I ate more fish. A few years ago I decided to go back to school and I am currently going into my last year and I cannot wait to graduate (hence I cannot afford the lavish food of fish till I get the degree). I attend the University of Maine in Orono, near Bangor. I am an Education/History major and will be soon teaching high school history. Yes history that dreaded class, which is why I chose to teach the subject for a couple of reasons. One I love history, to learn about dead people messing up, how awesome! The second, I want to bring life to a dry subject, make it fun and interesting and rid the old thought of it being boring. Without history we wouldn’t know what to do in the future. A side note, I used to attend the University of New Hampshire where I am originally from, the Granite State, best state and college ever where I also used to be on the team!!! Unfortunately anyone who knows the slightest thing about college, it is a bit expensive and me racing kind of went on hold and I have missed it for a long time. However it has been long enough and I back into it more than I have ever in the past. I cannot express my excitement for the upcoming summer and it just means I will be riding even more. Racing has been part of me since I started and is an addiction that I can even think about kicking. Even when I hang up the helmet for good, it will still follow me and I can only hope that I am in a position where I can still be part of the racing scene and be aiding it in any way that I can. I can still remember when I first started racing, in the mid 90’s, where it was a community, every downhill race consisted of the same people (about 20-30) and everyone knew everyone. The spandex was just as common as the 3-inch forks and hard tails. Now it is a culture and the amount of racers are mind blowing. The sport has grown and it is better than anything to know that is successful. Trials to street, there isn’t anything I can’t get enough of. I love to race to just go out for a ride, the more I am on a bike, the happier I am. Trees to lampposts, I am all for it. Trail riding and downhill courses are great, fun and just plain exciting. Everyday I just want to be out in the woods, either on the local trails to the mountain with the chairlift. However the same passion I have for trails I do for the urban world, just being out on the streets, catching air over stairs to popping up on a bench, there are no complaints. The best part about that, people who know hardly anything of the sport get to see some part of it and most love to hear more. Getting to connect with those types of people and getting to talk to them is just as fulfilling as finding the podium. Well I guess that is a bit of who I am, it isn’t really that extensive which I apologize for, id rather do it in person or even over the phone, however, ill be dropping more blogs, so you’ll get a better picture. Have a good day!
