What inspires you to compete?
Mental and Physical challenge, as well as the thrill of riding as fast (or faster) than you have trained yourself to do. I have an inner drive to succeed in whatever I put my mind/body, etc. to. Knowing that you can do something as good or better than your peers (who may not have taken so many years off away from the sport) is very rewarding.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
Talking "smack" with the other riders at the starting gate, and then stalling the bike as the gate dropped, having to kick the bike over and over again before realizing I should have pulled in the "hot start" lever before wearing myself out, causing the inside of my goggles to fog up with persperation, then riding like a man possessed in an effort (albeit in vane) to catch up with the pack, passing a rider, and then to fall right before the finish line and be re-passed!
Some Personal Information About Me:
I am a person with strong convictions and deep beliefs, and belive in God, Country and Family. I have always been very brand loyal, with the belief that if something works, you stick with it. I drive a black Chevrolet Silverado truck, and ride a red Honda CRF-450R. Red, Black and Silver are my favorite colors. I am happily married with one son, born 1/03/08!!!
Describe your style...
My riding/racing style is "strictly business", no tricks, no unnecessary stunts, brake safely at the last minute, accelerate out of turns as quickly as possible, when I jump I try to get the bike back on the ground as quickly as possible, so that the rear tire can make contact and get the power back to the track!
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
Yes, I am a member of a local fitness center. I have a trainer that has put together a program for me 3 times a week which includes cardio and weight training. I also now own a stationary bike, which seems to help alot! I try to ride practice at least once a week for as many hours as possible (I prefer to make a day of it), and either practice ride or race on weekends. Being a new father, and maintaining a 60+ hr. work schedule becomes difficult at times, but I try to make the best of it...
