Well we have been on the 65 or about six months now and things are finally starting to click. Of course we continue to need improvement in consistency of starts and cornering, but the skill set is at a point that we can really start working on those things.
The 65 has been a great move and we love it. This past weekend has probably been our most embarrassing moment. We were battling for position and jumped and I mean jumped thru a yellow flag! It is the first time in three years, but I think it was a great lesson. We went straight to the official and told him what we had done. He had already seen it and had a great talk with Garrett.
Hopefully by end of year we will be in a position on the 65 to pursue some bigger races again.

Well we will be heading down to Reddick Fla this coming weekend to kick off my "Freshman" year in the 50 Senior Class and 65 7-9. This year is going to be a great year for learning and training. We are excited and wish to thank our Sponsors for 2008 season...No-Toil, Pro-Taper, Answer Racing, Capitol Cycle, Hemingway Apparel, EVS, Liquid Performance, RK Racing Chains, Gaerne Boots, and Arai.

Well unfortunately we did not make it off of the alternate list at Loretta's. We were able to practice on Monday and that was awesome! The week at Loretta's was overwhelming and hats off to the Combs family and their staff!
After Loretta's Garrett will be moving up to the 50cc 7-8 and the 65cc 7-8. He has started practicing the 65 and the learning curve has been huge to say the least. However he is excited about his first race in the new classes and we have faith that God will continue to bless his efforts.

Well, after a very rough season and some tuff luck, by no fault of my rider Garrett, we are going to Lorretta's. We are going as an alternate, where we finshed 8th place at Doublin Gap. We are praying that we will get in, but if not, we will be there to support everyone and enjoy the week. We tried hard and things just didn't go our way to be guaranteed a spot. But remain faithful and trust God. He has brought us this far and allowed us to enjoy the sport with our family every weekend. We are having fun and we never give up! ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!

Motocross school, that is! In April I will be heading up to Axton, VA, Lake Sugartree, to participate in Gary Bailey's 2 day school. I am very excited and hope that my Dad and I can learn a lot.

Garrett has become part of an organization called Riders for Life! It is very similar to Relay for Life, except it is on a much smaller scale, grassroots initiative. Funds raised thru the 20 or so riders will be given to the American Cancer Society for further research against the dreadful disease.

This past weekend was the Lorretta Lynn Southeast Youth Regionals at Gatorback in Gainsville, Florida. It consisted of four hot days of a lot of fun. Friday was filled with practice sessions and we were glad, because the track is tuff! On Saturday the classes were split into divisons and the top 16 riders in each division advanced to the 2nd & 3rd motos on Sunday. Garrett raced in divison 2 and finished 12th, he did a great job! On Sunday Garrett finished the first moto in 27th position after an uphill fall coming out of the "gator pit" and he finished 20th in the second moto, for an overall finish of 24th. Super job Garrett! Keep up the good work!
