Motocross

How did you get started?

Dad bought a 50cc. Hooked instantly on riding. Bought myself a CR 80 at 14 riding only trails as there was no track near by. Went with out a bike from 16 to 20. A torturous 4 years. Then bought a punched old 92 Cr250 at 20 while going to university in Vancouver. Rode at a motocross track in Tsawassen, BC. Instantly hooked on motocross. Bought a newer 2000 YZ 250 with my student loan (shhh) and have been on a bike ever since. Started competitive racing at 25 in the 2006 season at an intermediate level.

List your competitive highlights:

6th Overall MX1 Intermediate CMA BC Championships Series 2007. 2nd Overall +25 CMA BC Championships Series 2007 (tied points with 1st lost by default). 2nd Overall MX1 Intermediate CMA Golden Harvest Series 2007. 1st Overall +25 CMA Golden Harvest Series 2007. 2nd Overall MX1 Intermediate CMRC Island Spring Series 2008. 3rd Overall +25 CMRC Island Spring Series 2008.

What are you planning for next season?

I plan to continue training and riding outdoors in the winter. I will be racing the Nextrax Arenacross Series in Chilliwack, BC. I will be competing in the MX2 Intermediate and Open Intermediate classes aboard my new 2009 Kawasaki KXf 250 that I picked up from No Limits Motorsports in Squamish. This spring I will race the CMA BC Championship Series. Depending on how well I do in the Arenacross series I may move up to Expert in CMA. Should the Intermediate competition in CMA challenge me and make for enjoyable racing I will stay in this class for the Spring Series and my goal will be to finish at or near the top of the class. I will also race in the +25 Class and my goal is again to be at or near the top of this class. I will also race as many CMRC races as I can. My home track may be switching to CMRC and if this is the case I will race mostly CMRC. I also plan to take a crack at qualifying for the CMRC Pro National in Kamloops in 2009. I really enjoy the Kamloops track and have had some good races there so I am looking forward to it. In the fall I will continue to race all the local CMA or CMRC Fall series races.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

2nd Place in MX1 Intermediate in the CMA Golden Harvest Series in my second year of racing. 2nd Overall in MX1 Intermediate CMRC Island Series.
