Only USAC Junior with World Cup Experience
Hi, I'm Geoff Ulmer in 2009 I’ll be eighteen years old and racing in the professional ranks for the second year. I’ll once again be racing in the pro class, but I’ll still have Junior eligibility for the USAC National Championships in Colorado and the UCI World Championships in Australia. Those two races along with selected UCI World Cup races, two Canada Cup Races, the US Open, the Gravity Pro Tour and Mountain Bike National Calendar Races will make up my schedule for 2009. I hope to make it to a couple of Plattekill, NY races as well.
In 2008 I raced for The Playbiker – Ironhorse Team, a UCI Trade Team based out of Pila, Italy. I gained valuable International experience, racing in Italy, Slovenia, Scotland, Andorra and Canada. I was able to race in five World Cups and was selected to represent the United States at the 2008 World Championships.
In June 2008 while training in Italy I broke my collarbone and had to return home just one week before the World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy. Three weeks after that I crashed hard at Plattekill Bike Park, Roxbury, NY and although I didn’t realize it at the time, I tore my rotator 95% of the way thru. I continued the season hurt and well below my potential, until surgery the first week in September. With a lot of rehab I should be ready to start serious training in February 2009.
In August 2008 I was featured in Decline Magazine and my picture was selected to appear in POC’s 2009 catalog.
