Donington Park Entered and Ready to Race!
The FIM/Youthstream released the entry list for the 2nd race of the FIM World Veterans MX Series at Donington Park, Great Britain on Aug. 25-26. I am on the list and officially entered!!!! I am so excited. Adrian Pichon will be there, on a Michael Pichon KTM prepared bike. US legend Senior racer formerly retired Chuck Sun is coming to race in the Senior Class on a works CAS 450 Honda. Very exciting. This is an totally new track. I hope it is finished now. I made some calls to a local and supposedly it was described as "supercrossish" what ever that means to a British MX'er. I am honored to be able to be allowed to race there. I think the most dangerous part will be driving on the left side of the road with a left shift Ford Turbo Diesel Transit Van, although they are really nice vehicles. I wish they sold them here with the good mileage ans space they have. I will be racing the KTM and have a full set of front and rear sprockets ready for anything. It is daunting to go and race 3600 nm away with no support but I am looking forward to the adventure of taking the journey. They expect 40,000 to 50,000 fans for this race. The Veterans race is on Eurosport TV and some other channels over there only but not www.mediazone.com. I am the only American entered in the Veterans Class again. I am only the second person from Louisiana state to race in a European FIM Grnad Prix besides Trampas Parker who won two world MX chamionships years ago. Dealing with 4 overweight cases of gear will be a challenge as usual, down from my 7 cases last trip. I'm learning but this is really a hard thing to race logistically. I still do not have the bike shipment confirmed to the hotel and back home. Gotta have faith or you will go crazy on these trips! I am the luckiest little boy mx'er in the USA (even at 55 yrs. of age!).
