When we first took this one out of the box we thought there must be something missing, it just seemed too simple and too light. Luckily we soon discovered we were wrong when it fitted like a dream with no missing pieces. The simplicity of the design meant that this was without doubt the easiest chain device that we have ever had the pleasure of fitting. Even though the design is so simple, it still hasn’t ever managed to let us down, and that’s what matters at the end of the day. Another surprise was the polycarbonate outer ring that feels completely different to anything else out there at the moment, and it’s also considerably narrower. We honestly thought it would break at the first sign of trouble, but despite our best efforts, it’s still in one piece and begging for more. The most obvious difference with this material is the way it gives slightly under load. It does not bend and then stay bent like aluminium, instead it just returns to its original form. This means it will absorb much of the force from an impact, thereby saving your favourite cranks from destruction. These may well be the new kids on the block, but like e.thirteen they seem to have managed to hit the nail on the head from day one. A great debut product for here in the UK.
