Hello, my name is Samantha Fugate and I am an athlete in the Lansing area and I need help.  I have lived in the Lansing area all my life and I have managed to do some pretty cool things in sports, especially soccer.  I have played varsity in college and I have even played on a semi-professional team based out of Flint.  But after years of playing, all the hits to my head finally took their toll and I am no longer able to play soccer because of my multiple concussions.  When my doctor told me this I was upset, but then I decided to focus on a sport I had just started; triathlons.  After a summer of hard work and medaling in every race except one, I received an amazing email.  I had qualified for Worlds 2008 and I would be racing for Team USA in June.  I couldn't believe it, I read the email so many times so assure myself that it was real.  I started working on training plans and nutrition plans, and then I realized I couldn't afford Worlds.  I've already registered and I'm on the roster, but the costs are adding up and I need help.  I've called many, many businesses in the area, but they have all said they don't sponsor individuals.  I was wondering if you could help me out, I really need the help and I think it would be a shame if I was not able to represent my country!
