FRINGE SH RIDER Video Released

"Get Down" the first SH rider video made by FRINGE was released on 12/21/2007 just in time for the Holidays!  Special thanks to MAX GRIMM, CODY ADAMS, and ROBERT BURCH for their footage.

Other riders who sent in footage include: Steven Steigmeyer, Nick Hermann, Karl Robinson and Evan Morton. Unfortuneately the footage you sent in didn't play on our set-up (we got a couple of blank CD's) or else you would have been in the video.  Featured riders got some free gear and a copy of the film.

This video was the first SH rider video made by FRINGE.  We're all stoked on it and we are doing another one early 2008.

Keep Shredding (and get your friends to film so you can be in the next video)

BMX frame maker 2-Hip bikes will release a new video this month called

"Anarchy in the UK" featuring some dope riding (and editing) by FRINGE team rider Jarrod Allen.

The video was shot in the UK and features the 2-Hip Crew.

Check out the trailer at: http://www.2hip.com/news.html

Also check the FRINGE commercial which will be in the video. This is the start of a video series documenting the adventures of the FRINGE VAN aka "Murder 1." We bought this van from a company called California Emergency Clean-up. You can imagine what they do. .. .

That video is posted in the gallery on our SH profile.

Keep Shredding. -FRINGE

Get Ready for winter!

That's right, winter is coming and with it some solid NW swells.  After just about the flattest summer we've had the team at FRINGE can't wait.  On October 1st,  the waiting period for the 3rd annual NELSCOTT REEF TOW COMP sponsored by FRINGE opens. FRINGE rider Jake Wormhoudt and his brother Zach will be surfing this event for the third year in a row.  This tag team of big wave riders from Santa Cruz won the event in 2005 and are stoked to be going up to Oregon again this year.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Nelscott Reef, it's a big wave break located about a 1/4 off the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon.  This massive slab of reef doesn't even get started till it's a solid 15 and at 40+ it's just getting good.  When the swell gets that big a second reef to the south starts firing.  Both are A-frame peaks with the main reef offering insanely long rights and the south reef offering solid lefts. . .

Check out www.nelscottreef.com for more info!

What's up Friends of FRINGE?

If your in the San Diego area on Sept 22nd don't forget to stop by (or Enter) the final Event of the REVOLT MAGAZINE Summer surf series sponsored by FRINGE.  Wave migh actually get good for this one. . .

Thanks to Brian and his crew at Revolt for putting on a killer series of events this year!

Check out www.revoltinstyle.com for complete details.

Keep Ripping!

The Central Coast Triple Crown of Surfing put on by the Morro Bay Surf Company and co-sponsored by FRINGE wrapped up it's 3rd and final event on Saturday March 24th in Cayucos, CA.

Solid chest high surf and relatively calm winds made super fun conditions for the event.  Plenty of local talent on hand including FRINGE ripper Ian Walker and long time Cenral coast local Danny Hart..

Congratulations to TJ Mortimer who won the Pro AM (and a sweet van) and to all the local kids who came out and ripped.  MBSC rocks and we'll see all you guys next year!

FRINGE St. Patrick's Day Skate comp went down on Saturday March 17th in Escondido CA.

Huge turnout for the beginner class and it was fun to watch all the little dudes shred.  Thanks to Hate For State who played live in the park, all the riders who came out, Tim and the city of Escondido, and everyone who showed up to make the day a fun one for everybody.  Look for the next FRINGE comp on Saturday June 16th.  Same place and time.

What's up FRINGE riders? ? ?

We're throwing down a skate comp on March 17th and a BMX comp on March 18th at the CITY Of ESCONDIDO SKATE PARK.  Live bands, cash and prizes.  $15 entry NO PROS!

AMS time to shine.  Come check it out and say what's up to FRINGE!

Morocco. Step off of the airplane in Agadir and you could step back in time 1000 years. Visit ancient walled cities, get lost in the sights and smells of the Souk, join up with a camel caravan headed out to a palm fringed Saharan oasis or, head straight to the coast and score some pumping surf.

The country of Morocco lays on the Northwestern most tip of Africa just below Spain.

It’s 2000+ mile coastline is angled into the north Atlantic where massive low pressure systems born on the United States Eastern seaboard peak in intensity as they hit the Moroccan swell window delivering consistent 2 to 3 meter swells that light up the various world class points and reefs of the Taghazout area.

The Surf. While the desert landscape might remind you of Baja California, the feeling in the water is more akin to Hawaii. A quiver of short boards in the range of 6’0 to 6’8 should get you into all but the most massive swells of the year. A few things to remember when you’re standing on a cliff watching the sets roll in. It’s always a little bigger than it looks, It’s always a little faster then it looks and oh yea, there is always a set looming out the back. That being said if you get a swell over 2 meters the coastline literally lights up with an insane amount of lineups. Everything from peeling right points to heaving left reefs await the surf traveler and once you get out of walking distance from Taghazout the crowds thin and with a little local knowledge you can surf un-crowded waves almost every day.

Enter Denny. He’s been scouring this coast for over ten years and is the owner of Moroccan Surf Adventures (www.morocsurf.com). For a killer price you can crash at his 3 story pad with a sick roof deck, breakfast and lunch included and on top of it all he’ll drive you up and down the coast all day long until you can’t move your arms or are just plain tired of freight train right points. When you get home the fridge is packed full of cold FLAG beer and for a few bucks more you can enjoy some world class Moroccan food cooked up almost every night by his lovely wife Emma.

Having hosted the likes of Mike Loosness, Shane Dorian, Taj Burrow, Dan Malloy and Taylor Steele, Den is definitely the guy you want on your side. He knows the winds, tides, various lineups and mysto spots (most of which he pioneered) better than anyone in the Taghazout area. If your lucky enough to share your trip with the likes of Ivan, Rookie, or a crew from Jersey then you might just have a mental surf trip that will keep you stoked for months to come.

Thanks for everything Den!
