What inspires you to compete?
I ike to push the limits of myself and the competition atmosphere is great too
Why do you like this sport?
It's the only sport that relays only on myself. I'm not on a factory team nor do I have a mechanic so if something on the bike fucks up, its my fault and if I don't do well in a race, I should have trained harder. There's no one else to point fingers at except myself. And in the end, It's the only sport that frees my mind of the reality of life.
Describe your style..
My old style used to be wide open all the time. I rode fast as fuck but I was always on the brink of being out of control, which I always found myself on the ground or with plaster on a body part. So i took the 2008 season off to rethink and regroup because I just wasn't having fun anymore. If I didn't win it was because I was on the ground (which came more frequently than the winning part).
During the 2008 season I took off completely from racing and riding. I grew up alot and became more mature now that I'm in the adult world. For the 2009 season I'm in the best shape of my life and I'm thinking more clearly on and off the track and becoming alot more consistant.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I'm not too mush of a moning person anymore but I'm up and around by 9 or 10 am. I go wash the bikes and get done what needs to be done to them. Then I'm off for a light warm up jog around the neighborhood. When I get back I eat a light breakfast and load the bikes and my gear up to head to the track. I keep my riding part of the training different everyday. Monday I work alot on holeshots and reaction time. Tuesday is nothing but corner speed and picking good lines. Wednesday I focus on the jumps on the track and scrubbing speed and staying low and fast. Thursday and Friday I put it all together by doing 6-8 motos of 30 mins per moto. After the track everyday I head to the gym and do my free weight lifting and 30 mins of intense cardio.
Music?
Helps me get in the zone on my way out to the track and helps me unwind after riding. Anything from Trivium to David Alen Coe to Bob Marley
