Overview

How I got started

I got started going to the local races with friends that ride bike and they talked me into entering an event. I was hooked after my first event even though I didnt finish because of a flat tire.

Goals for the Future

For 2009 I am bumping up and running the A class hopefully wearing #124 riding my 2006 Honda TRX450R. This decision was pretty easy for me because towards the end of the 2008 season I was consistantly finishing in the top 25 overall and top 3 in my class. In the A class I hope to finish in the top 5 at each race and hopefully in the top 20 overall.

What inspires you to compete?

Knowing that I am not the fastest and being able to push myself when I ride to always become faster and then being able to see the results that I am catching up to the fastest guys.

Describe your style...

I learned a lot from the 2008 season, so for next year I am going to try and get better starts and get a good pace going the first lap and not make any big mistakes. From there on I try to pick up more speed as the race goes on and pick good lines so in the end I am able to battle hopefully for a podium position.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

This year I am going to work more on cardio throughout the winter so I can be in good shape for the start of the season. When I can finally ride I plan on riding at least twice a week before the season and once a week in between races. I am going to put in more track at my house so help with my training.

Why do you compete?

I compete because I like the competition and that I can see how I improve from week to week. Also because I like to compete against friends that race or even just trail riding.

Competitive Highlights

Finished 2nd in class at the River Ratz hare scramble and 16th overall and that is with 5 pro and pro-am gncc riders racing. Out of our series riders I was 11th overall.
