Overview

How I got started

For my first two years I raced the 80`s. Then I made Amateur and I started to race the 125 youth class also. I quickly made amateur in the youth class. At age 15 I started racing the 250B class on a CRF450. I raced most of the NESC events and some District 34 and Nemx in 2002. In 2003 I have raced Nesc, Distric 34, Loretta Lynn Qualifier / Regional and the Northeast Classic series. I also raced the same series in 2004 during hte spring and summer, but as the school time came around the racing slowed down but my speed didnt. I am a student at the university of connecticut and i am a mechanical engineering major with hopes to be involved in future design of motocross bikes to come. In the 2004 race season my speed pick up and I placed consistantly in the top 10. Shortly After in 2005, I became an expert in the fall series and left off for a good start in the 2006 season. Between 2006 and 2007 I began to experience the reality of life when I was going to school and working at the same time. After losing speed and motivation, two kids who could never touch me became incredibly fast and would tease and harass me because i was slower. So they motivated and taught me to become faster, and now only working full time I have time in my schedule to ride. Starting the Fall of 2007 with more speed and motivation than ever before, i cant wait to see my results.

Goals for the Future

My goal is to go pro next year and qualify at southwick mx338. the license was just in reach when i crashed hard and broke my collar bone but there are a few more races this year and hopefully i can get the rest of the points i need to get the license for 2010.

Bio

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I was getting ready to go out for practice and Southwick MX338, and i forgot to turn on my gas. So, i rode up to the first corner, the bike stalled, and I fell face first into the sand. I was covered head to toe in sand and completely embarrassed.

Why do you like this sport?

I like this sport because when I am out there racing there is no one yelling at me nor is there a team depending on me to play my part perfectly. Instead it is just me, my mechanic, and my bike; and only i can make the differences as to how well I do. This year was great despite numerous injuries but that means I was hammering down this year picking up my speed. unfortunately i crashed a few times and am done for the rest of the year with a broken collar bone. after supporting myself I have a new appreciation for the sport and am having more fun than ever.

Some Personal Information About Me:

I am a 23 years old, and works full time, loves to ride, and loves to train in MMA. After graduating from college in May 2007, I was able to relax and finally start to have some fun. I began riding and training 2 or 3 times a week, as well as working full time. So time was tight, but now the summer rush is over and i have some time to really start riding again. Right now, im enjoying life and having fun riding at the same time.

Describe your style...

My style used to be super aggressive, hammer every corner and i slammed every whoop. I was beating myself up, but once some kids i ride with started kicking my butt, i decided that it was time to try something new. Being taught and harassed by two kids 6 and 8 years younger than me, I learned how to flow around the track. Now I try to ride as smooth as possible through flat lines. I can flow through corners and scrub my jumps and my speed keep going up.

Why do you compete?

I compete because there is no better feeling than riding with 40 riding that are right around your speed. Bar banging, passing, and jumping side by side is way cooler than practice with that one faster rider at the practice track.

Competitive Highlights

In 2001 I was 7th in the NESC 85cc fall series Championship, 4th in the Parts Unlimited 85cc series, 2nd in the 85cc Central Cycle Club Summer series and 5th in the 125cc CCCMX Summer Series. In 2002 i placed 7th in the youth and 9th in the 250 amateur fall series championships. In 2003 I earned points in the last two races of the Northeast Classic series, and in the nesc fall series I was in 2nd for the 250 amateur, 7th in the youth and 13th in the 125 amateur riding strong before I broke my hand. Also in the 2003 race season i attended the Loretta Lynn qualifiers at southwick. Did very well I four classes but only qualified in three to go to the regional at frozen ocean. the fourth class was collegeboy which was a non-qualifier. In the 2004 Nesc Spring series championship I placed 7th in the 125 amateur and 8th in the 250 amateur. In 2005, I began my year jumping around to different organizations racing amateur, but by mid summer i made expert and for the fall series championships i came in 11th in the 125 expert/pro clas, and I finished 9th in the 250 expert/pro class championship. In 2006 and 2007, life hit me hard so i found a range of results, but my speed over all if faster, so i found that with proper conditioning I can run in hte top 5 at the local NESC races. That is a personal achievement that i have been working to reach. In July of 2007 I made it over the top of a hill at the monson hillclimbs in Monson Massachuetts on a stock bike at my first event. Also, I placed top ten in the line up. This 2009 season was a highlight for me because every race i had a great time. eventhough my results dont reflect the success i feel ive had this year, but I have been battling with some of the best in new england consistantly. most times ending up on the ground because im riding over my head a little bit but it is just a phase im going through building my speed.
