Overview

How I got started

My dad and uncle rode. I have been riding since I was 8. I did not start racing until I graduated from college.

Goals for the Future

Win the Vet B Class Championship in the KY Off-road Hare Scramble Series! Secondary goals include competing in the National Enduros, qualifying for the ISDE, and to finish top 3 in Open B Class in the GNCC series. I will also pursue the AMA Hare Scrambles Open B championship, top 2 is my goal. I will rely on both offroad trails and racing MX at Daniel Boone Mx for training and practice.

Bio

What inspires you to compete?

The competition and knowing I am one of the better offraod riders. I get inspired when the adversity of the daily grind drains on my time and effort. I then challenge myself to overcome.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

Riding to the start line at the WISP GNCC 2005 I thought it would be a good idea to practice braking in the grass... I dropped like a dummy. Many people were watching but no one laughed... At least until I got up and did the exact same thing again within 20 yards.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I run 25 miles a week. I bicycle around the runs at least 40 to 60 miles per week. I also practise riding on Saturdays. I think for an amatuer I have a pro type regimen.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

Love the travel. I used to work for a large construction company and traveled all over the US. Then I married my wonderful wife and she flattened my tires... Nah, I love her and wanted to be with her.

Employment / Experience Summary

Most proud of my employment. I have a masters degree in Engineering and currently operate as the City Engineer for a small city. I manage a 20 million dollar budget with nearly 100 employees. Dirt bikes are definitely an outlet.

Competitive Highlights

Practicing engineering, riding full time with the GNCC Series, and raising now two daughters.
3rd place at the 2006 Black Coal National Hare Scramble in Lynnville In. Accomplished this after a tough year of nagging injuries and bike failures. Also 4th place at 2005 Yadkin Valley Stomp GNCC
