Overview

How I got started

I`ve ridden for many years. I started with a Yamaha 60 enduro and moved onto a 100 enduro and then a 175 enduro. I was jumping the 175 so much that I finally ripped the license plate off, and that was enough to convince my parents to let me buy my first dirt bike, a 1993 CR 250. I then moved up to a 2000 CR 250 and rode for a year or two. Then in Feb. of 2005 I bought a 2003 Z 400 and started racing in July after one of my friends started.

Goals for the Future

This year I am racing Quad C, next year I am for sure moving to Quad B or possibly even Quad A. I am doing a lot of work to my new YFZ this summer and should have everything ready to go 100% next season

Bio

Describe your style...

I am a clean rider and dont like to bump and grind much, but if they start racing dirty I`ll get ahead of them. I never give up and am always pushing myself trying to get better. I also like freestyle and just free riding. I always strive to be better and advance my riding.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I work out as much as possible and ride EVERY chance I get. I just graduated from college and have a full time job which helps with building my new YFZ and riding almost every night.

Why do you compete?

I compete because I have always had the urge to be just a little better than everyone else. If my friends try something, I have to at show them up. I practice as much as I can which is nice since we have our own track now. Racing on the weekend just lets me get away and take all my stress out on the track.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Well my dream is to be a pro freestyle rider, and i know that if I had access to a foam pit I could do anything. I work at a communications company in Oskaloosa, IA right now. This is a great job because I get most nights and weekends off, so I can ride almost every night.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

Yes, I love to travel. Every year my friends and I take at least one dune trip. So far we have been to Silver Lake, Michigan, Little Sahara, Oklahoma, and the most recent St. Anthony, Idaho. This trip we had five guys in one extended cab truck and a 24 enclosed trailer. It was a 23 hour drive and we drove that straight through. It was awesome out there. I love the sand, you can make almost anything a jump and I`m not scared to try new freestye tricks. It was a great trip and I can`t wait til we go back to Little Sahara this spring.

Competitive Highlights

I`ve always finished in the top 10 and most races had 20 plus riders. I finished 7th, 5th, 4th at the Iowa State Fairgrounds and 4th at Fun Valley. (2005)
This year (2006) I competed in the Quad Challenge in Indianola, IA. I was on a 2003 Z400 and broke my subframe on the last lap of the first moto. I still finished 7th out of 16 and advanced to the second moto. I found a welder and welded the subframe back together to compete in the final moto which I finished 7th in. Overall on the day I finished 8th out of 33. Not bad for an old broken Z 400.
