Today was my first race in the Vet Int. class. I did rather well and pulled a 2-1 for first overall. I still have a long way to go though, but I didn't fall off the pace. I kept the charge the whole 20 min. moto, and kept with the group for 3/4 of the race. My arms started to get tired, and I lost my steam with two laps to go. Still, I rode the Int. pace and I am happy about that.
The next race will be REM's October-Cross, which is on the Glen Helen's National track. That will be a lot of fun. After that will be the Lake Elsinore GP.

Sunday was the last round of the REM No Fear Summer series, Rd. 9. It has been a great series. I have scored 16 moto wins to win the championship in the Vet Nov. class. I will be moving up to the more competitive Vet Int. class, where I'll be riding 30 min. motos instead of the 20 min. motos that the Nov. class does.
I'm very excited to be moving up to the Int. class(again) after taking a few years off of racing. I am now back to where I was when I stopped racing and feel great. All the swimming, mtn bike riding and time in the gym is really paying off in my results.
I am able to push harder and through the whole moto, not just the first few laps.
A big thanks go out to the organizers of REM, Frank and Myra. I have been running REM since way back in 93 when they were still at the famous Carlsbad Raceway, and they have always put on a great place to race. A big thanks goes out to my father for being there through it all and still pushing himself in the 50+ class every weekend of this summer series. Without his support and him introducing me to this addicting sport, I wouldn't be here today with this love for motocross.
Now...on to the Intermediate class...

This past weekend was the 3rd round of the REM summer series at Glen Helen, CA. The track layout was the same as last week, but the personality of the track was completely different from last week. First, the track got more water this weekend, and second, the REM track officials decided to rip the track deep for this weekend. Both of the conditions combined to privide a rough, rutted, track filled with braking bumps. Mix that with 98 degree heat, and it would be a rough day of racing.
My first moto I pulled out to a size-able lead and on lap 3 my front tire slid out in a muddy, rutted corner. I was able to keep the bike running and get back up with the lead. I was able to finish and take the win.
Second moto I was 3rd going into the first turn, and was able to pull the lead in my class. I was riding well, but slid out on an off-camber corner. I remounted and lost the lead for about half a lap. After the finish, I was able to pull ahead and re-take the lead. I would put my head down and pull out to give myself a gap to cruz to another moto win, and the overall win for the day.
So, the first three rounds, I have three 1st place overalls for the series. Feels good.

The start of the REM summer series started this past weekend on July 12th. I was excited to race again, as I have turned over a new leaf. Working out again, mountain biking and swimming. I want to get back in to competitive form.
The track at REM is typical Glen Helen. Big hills, and rutty. The track was a lot of fun though. I signed up in the Vet. Nov. class and headed out for practice.
Moto one I was second in to turn one. I pulled a good lead over the guys in my class, and let the other guys that I wasn't racing pass. By the time the checkered flag waved after 7 laps, I had built up a 15 sec. lead. I was pumped.
The second moto was a repeat of the first, as I was second in to the first turn. I rode smooth and strong to finish the 7 lap race in first again and with a 20 sec. lead this time.
Going 1-1 for 1st overall made me feel very good, as all the hard work I have put in with my new routine is showing on the track. This Sat. is round two of the Summer series. It will be another great day for me!

The California Classic GP at Cahuilla Creek on Dec. 10, 2006 was a blast. Very fun, techincal since it rained. I battled for 7th after a bad start left me in 10th.
Track layout was very fun and will be doing the rest of the series.

I am back riding as of yesterday, Dec. 28, 2005. Although not at 100%, I am taking it easy till I feel comfortable again. I do not want to risk injuring my knee again before it is ready. I`ll be training and getting my knee back to race shape by March. I look forward to the 2006 race season racing in such SoCal series`s such as VetX, REM, and other local races.
This is a big step in my goal to get back to racing competively in 2006.
