What has been your most embarrassing moment?
I had only been riding for about 5 months when I entered my first race. The goal for the day was to simply have fun and finish safely. It was my last race of the day and as I was approaching the finish line table top to take the white flag, my body positioning was a too far to the rear of the bike and as I went up the face I slid closer to the rear fender. I simply held on and kept the gas on causing the front end to rise to almost a vertical angle right in front of the P.A. announcer. I landed fine and made my last lap but everybody was talking about "The guy who almost lost it" and I have yet to live that down.
Why do you like this sport?
I like this sport because it requires the most out of your body physically and mentally and it is the most family-friendly and over-all friendliest competition I have ever experienced.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
I currently ride two times a week, but I am about to put my own track in at my house, so that I can ride everyday. I also run 2-4 miles 4 days a week. I feel it is essential to train if I want to maintain a race-level of endurance.
How's Life Treating You?
I cannot complain. I have a job that allows me a flexible schedule and I have the most amazing girl in the world at my side. I could not ask God for more.
